The munchkins were alcoholics

Judy Garland wasn't the only one who had drug problems during production. 

Some of the munchkins were addicts who were out of control. 

They would sometimes come to the studio hung over and torment Judy. 

Some say that a few munchkins stuck their hands up Judy's skirt. Ew! 

And after work days, they'd go out and get drunk. 

Sometimes, the studio needed to bail them out of jail. 

It was so bad, they hired someone to look after those crazy munchkins. 

I guess Toto deserved more money when you think of how much the munchkins cost the studio.
