After some time had gone by, Hawks got invited to the base this time to give us a report. He was the new Ally Dabi had talked about. We were all sitting around a table, and Hawks was standing in the middle of the room. The light was dimmed, so he wasn't able to see our faces. I sat next to Dabi, and on my other side was Toga, next to her Twice, and next to him, Spinner. On Dabi's right here was Compress, and there were a few people from former Liberty Worriors or something, I don't know. "Status Report?" Hawks asked. "Well, I'm working hard spreading liberation ideology," Hawks said, and one of the former liberation worrior held out a book. "About that book you've been passing out to the heroes... Not only did you read it thoroughly, but also really got the detro-ness. It's obvious you're the one of the ones who gets it." The man said. "Thanks." Hawks replied cheerfully. "Actually, I don't get it at all! Teach me sometimes!" Twice said. "Sure, it's not hard." Hawks answered.
"With a billboard like you, Liberation ideologies will spread quickly. Winning over your base of teens and 20-somethings would be great for us." The man said. "I will continue my work." Hawks said. The others from former yakuza started to complement him, and I laid my head on the table. I was just tired. "thanks. We're not even on the commissions radar yet. They're investigating the League's involvement in the Deika city incident, but the troops are doing their job well. and we slowly started teaching the next generations." Hawks said, and I felt a hand on the back of my hand, and Dabi was slowly massaging my head as I enjoyed his touch. "Oh, it's Izuku!" Toga said happily with red cheeks. "Really, what a coincidence!" "From what I saw, they haven't grown much," Dabi said. "Well, they are just students." Hawks said. "Good work. You may go. Hawks!" One of the Yakuza said, and Hawks left the room.
After the meeting with Hawks ended, I stretched, feeling the tension lift from the room. As everyone began to leave the dimly lit space, I turned to the others with a grin. "Let's do something fun," I said, the sudden burst of energy surprising even me after feeling so drained.
Toga's eyes immediately lit up, her excitement matching mine. "Yes! Let's have some fun!" she chirped, practically bouncing on her feet. She turned to Twice, who was grinning under his mask. "Come on, Twice! Let's go do something wild!"
"I'm in! We all deserve a little break!" Twice replied eagerly, always up for anything chaotic.
Spinner, though more reserved, shrugged and gave a nod. "As long as it's not too crazy," he muttered, but the hint of a smile on his face said he was curious.
Dabi, still standing beside me, raised an eyebrow, his smirk lazy but amused. "Fun, huh? What's your idea of fun, Katsu?" His tone was teasing, but his eyes had that glint that made my heart skip a beat. He casually slipped an arm around my waist, pulling me closer to him as we walked out.
I thought for a moment, biting my lip. "Something that'll get our minds off everything. Something spontaneous." I glanced at Toga. "Maybe we could crash a party? Something flashy to mess with people a little. Nothing too serious."
Toga giggled in approval. "I love that! Parties are always so much fun, especially if there's lots of blood!" She twirled on her toes, clearly ready for anything.
Dabi chuckled, his grip on me tightening as we made our way to the exit. "Crashing a party, huh? Sounds like your style."
"Why not?" I said with a grin. "We deserve to enjoy ourselves once in a while, right?"
"Fine by me," Dabi said, looking ahead with that same confident air he always had. "Let's find something to stir up."
As we walked out of the base into the cool night air, the tension that had filled the room during Hawks' report began to fade completely. There was a sense of freedom in the air—a break from all the plotting and planning. We didn't always need to be caught up in the chaos of villainy; sometimes we could just let loose and be ourselves.
With Toga's bubbly excitement, Twice's chaotic energy, Spinner's cautious approval, Compress's fun and Dabi by my side, I knew this would be one of those nights we wouldn't forget.
"You know," I said, looking up at Dabi as we walked side by side, "I missed this. Just having a little fun."
Dabi gave me a sideways glance, his smirk softening slightly. "Yeah, we could all use a break from the madness. But with you, it never stays quiet for long."
I chuckled, resting my head on his shoulder for a moment. "That's why you love me, right?"
He didn't respond immediately, but I could see the corner of his lips twitching in that familiar, amused way. His hand slipped from my back to my waist, pulling me just a bit closer. "You really think I'm that predictable?" he teased, his voice low and laced with sarcasm.
I raised an eyebrow, smirking. "Maybe not predictable. But you've never denied it."
Dabi let out a small, almost inaudible laugh, shaking his head. "I guess you're damn right at that point." He said, and I grinned at him happily.
