Chapter 22

I slowly walked to the door taking caution. Nash And Cam aren't suppose to be home for a couple more hours. I carefully unlocked the door and opened it.

To my relief it was a girl. Not just any girl.

"SKY!!!!!" She yelled as she pulled me into a hug.

We pulled away.

"Abigail! Oh my god what are you doing here?"

"Well, the soccer team is having a reunion game next week, And I wouldn't miss it for the world."

Last year, my senior year of highschool, me and Abigail were co captain of the team.

"So are you going to play one last game with us?"

"Of course! you want to hang out a bit so we can catch up?"

"Yeah."

I pulled her into the house.

We walked to the living room and sat down on the couch. I told her about everything. I mean everything. Spencer cheating on me, Breaking up with Spencer, Meeting Shawn, My first time, Shawn and Spencer's fight, And most importantly finding out I had cancer.

"Wow. You've been through so much."

She said after I finished. she then continued,

"I can't believe you have cancer, and your dating the one and only Shawn Mendes."

"I can't believe it either. Sometimes it just feels like a dream."

"A good dream. Right?"

" Half the time."

"Because of the cancer part."

"That's the thing. When it feels like a bad dream it's not always about cancer. Sometimes it's about Shawn."

"Why? From the story's you told me he sounds like a great guy."

"He is. Trust me he is. It's just what if I don't make it. He'll never be the same. He has a huge future. And I can ruin that."

" Sky, if he thinks you can ruin his future, then why is he still with you. You want to know why? It's because he loves you. It doesn't matter to him how many risks are with it."

"Thanks Abs." I said pulling her into a hug.

After hours and hours of talking and laughing we fell asleep. Abigail ended up spending the night.

----------A week later-------

It's two days before my birthday, and I'm missing Shawn more than ever. We haven't got to talk that much because he's been writing songs for his EP. I try to avoid Spencer when he texts me. I told him I needed space. Abigail has been here for me, and we've been going to soccer practice every other day. I like it because it gets my mind off of all my problems. Right now I'm at practice since the game is on my birthday.

I went to go get a drink of water out if my bag. I took that opportunity to check my phone. I had a missed FaceTime from Shawn. I immediately FaceTimed him back. After about two rings he picked up.

"Hey beautiful!" He said waving to me.

"Hey handsome."

" Sorry I haven't talked to you lately things have been crazy, but I finally finished a new song."

"Really?! Can I hear this song?"

"Soon I promise. When the time is right."

"Okay.". I said with a chuckle.

"So what are you doing now?"

"I'm at soccer practice." I said facing the camera towards the feild."

"I would like to see you play sometime."

"I would love that."

"Well, I got to go we're going to record the new song." he said with a wink.

"Okay. bye. I love you!"

"Love you too!"

I hung up the FaceTime. I then felt a tap on my shoulder. I turned around expecting to see one of my teammates but all I saw was Spencer.

Sorry for the short chapter but I am sad to say there is only 2 or 3 more chapters until the book is over. I will most likely write an epilogue. But read this book until the end please.❤️
