"Are you serious?" I said with a chuckle
His face was expressionless.
"Cam? Your kidding.........right?"
He shook his head slowly
"H-how do I know your not lying."
He opened his mouth but I didn't let him finish
"You think this is some kind of sick joke? I can't believe I wasted my time on this!"
I turned on my heels making my way to the door but someone grabbed my arm. I turned to face them quickly pulling my arm back.
"Please jus-just let me explain. Please" Cam said with pleading eyes.
I relaxed a bit and let out a big sigh.
"Five minutes." I said sitting down next to Shawn who hasn't said anything yet he was just staring In space with an expressionless face.
Cam took a deep breath then began.
"I was five sitting in the waiting room a nurse with me since my father left us. I remember hearing cries. Cries of a baby. You, you were that baby. They took you out if the room to clean you up. I sat there waiting to here another fit of cries from the room our mom was in. But it was dead silent until the room doors bursted open our mom was wheeled out but she, she wasn't breathing my attention was turned to the half opened door I remember looking through the crack to see doctors huddled around another baby but this baby wasn't breathing. I was pulled aside by the nurse she was talking to me but I couldn't hear what she was saying I stopped listening. I was then pulled into another room. The nurse sat me down in a chair. She then brought in you. I remember holding you in my tiny arms and seeing you look up at me and crack a small smile. I looked up at the nurse and asked where my other sister was. She said they were doing the best they can. I sat there for an hour just holding you until another nurse walked in with another baby. That was your sister. That night I was told our mom didn't make it. The nurse asked me to name the two of you. I remember how my mom always talked about what she was going to name you. Shelby and Skyler. And that's what I stuck with. We didn't have any close family. We were put in the system. Later that year you got adopted which left me and Skyler. Trust me I didn't want to let you go I put up a fight. I remember trying to run away with you and Skyler but it didn't work. A couple months later I was told me and Skyler were getting adopted. We had a good life but it wasn't the same without you. I remember growing up every night telling Skyler the story of how both of you were born and telling her one day you would meet each other. One day Skylers birthday we decided it was finally time for you two to meet. On our way there we got into an accident my adoptive parents were killed. Skyler suffered some brain trama which resulted in memory loss she loss the memory of you and I never had the guts to talk about it years went by and I never told her." He was on the verge of tears
"And last year she died of heart cancer. I've always hated myself for not telling her and now it's to late. I lost her. When I ran into you I knew it wasn't a coincidence. I messed up once and I don't want to mess up again I finally saw you after so many years and I need to make up for that. I already loss Sky I don't want to Lose you too."
I was speechless part of me thought he was crazy yet another part for some reason believed him.
I thought it over then it hit me. My birth certificate. I couldn't find it and my mom always came up with a reason not to give it to me there's only one way I can prove Cameron is telling the truth. And that's to see my birth certificate.
I stood up.
"You don't believe me do you." He said looking down.
I pulled him into a hug.
