"I called him ma, I did it." Lil Charles yelled at Sheila. "Stop lying, I know she did it and you just trying to take up for her." "Na, ma I called Chels didn't. What other choice did we have we only have 4 more days left or we were bouta be homeless!" "I've been making miracles happen all yaw fucking life so what's the need to call him now." Chelsea stood there not saying a word. She knew Lil Charles was taking the wrap only because he knew that if Chelsea admitted to calling Big Charles it'll be a fight but Chelsea appreciated it. Lil Charles could almost get away with murder with Sheila but Chelsea could sneeze hard and Sheila would go off. "Ma ion know why you so mad, we need it." Lil Charles said to Sheila. "I'm mad because you giving the sorry motherfucker another story to tell and something else to brag about." Sheila yelled at Lil Charles.
"Ma, you can pay the rent now and won't get evicted, it'll give you time to find a job and get back on your feet, you gotta stop being so prideful especially when we need it." Chelsea butted in. "Shut yo ass up Chelsea I bet you the one called him and if Lil Charles did call yo ass put him up to do it." "No she didn't ma I called on my own yaw think ion be knowing what be happening around here but I do I'm not dumb as yaw think. The only reason we been making it since you got fired is cuzza Trey, Chels boyfriend yea I know that too." Lil Charles yelled towards Sheila. "Chelsea getting all in yo head." "No she ain't I just know what I see." "Lil Charles say another word and Ima smack the hell outta you." Chelsea stayed quiet as she could but she could feel herself about to explode because of how immature Sheila was acting. "Like I said we don't need him, he don't give a damn bout yaw cause if he did he'll do without yaw having to ask." Sheila said as she proceeded to delete the message and respond "nigga fuck you, we don't need your money we been making it without you."
"You done lost your mind, you so childish why should we have to suffer because your stuck in the past from what happened between you and daddy ? You know just like we know we needed that money. where we gone get it from huh? Wea yo job? What income you got coming ? What plan you have ?" Chelsea couldn't stay quiet any longer, and once Sheila ripped the money order into shreds that was it for Chelsea. Lil Charles had started to walk towards Chelsea, he didn't want a repeat of last year when Sheila and Chelsea had gotten into a full out fist fight. "You can run to him but I'm not, fuck him !" Sheila said to Chelsea. "You so caught up in your hate for daddy you don't realize how messed up it has you, I actually feel sorry for you ma because daddy has moved on with his life he married with 2 more kids and you here drinking and smoking sun up to sun down and hating him." Chelsea had tears streaming down her face. She couldn't believe Sheila had done that. "Leave go stay where he at and see how fast yaw asses be running back here. He don't care about yaw neither one of you." Sheila said in a mean but serious tone. "No it's you and your bitterness is why he act the way he do,I wouldn't want to deal with you either if I was your baby daddy. Lil Charles eyes grew buck because he was sure Sheila would come dashing towards Chelsea, but surprisingly she didn't. He didn't attempt to try and calm
Chelsea down , because when she was this mad it wasn't a such things as calming down to her. Chelsea stormed off towards her room, bumping Lil Charles so hard he stumbled. Once he gained his balance he followed Chelsea to her room."Yaw gotta chill Chels for real." "No ain't no chill ma is dead ass wrong and you know it, what we gone do now Lil Charles?" "Ion know Chels but yaw fighting and arguing ain't gone solve it either." "Ain't you tired of this huh, ain't you ? We be going through this all our lives mane we never had a childhood. Lil Charles I'm not saying daddy perfect cause he ain't he do some messed up stuff to but a lot of stuff we go through and have been through could have been avoided if momma just would put her pride to the side and ask for a little help." "I know all that and what you packing for where you going?" "Im going to stay with Trey I'm not about to deal with this Ima see if his momma let me stay there until school out and I'm going live with Aunt Stacy I can't take this anymore." "Really sis, you just told me come back home but now you trying to leave me here." " You know I'm not about to leave you here Lil Charles, you better go get your stuff together or I am gone leave you." "What about ma Chels?" "We can't worry about that we the kids Lil Charles she suppose to take care of us not us take care of her." "Aight calm down lemme go get my stuff together." Chelsea had started to text Trey and let him know her and Lil Charles were on their way.
"You really think his momma gone let yaw stay there free?" Sheila had creeped into Chelsea's doorway. "Yea, she do a lot for me and she loves us." "That's two more mouths to feed that she has no responsibilities to." "It's only until schools is out in 3 months and we going to live with Aunt Stacy," "So you got it all figured out huh missy, we'll see if it's easy as you think." "Anywhere is better than here, and I'm tired of it." "Hmph, less for me to worry about." Sheila said walking away blowing smoke in the air. Chelsea phone started to ring, it was a text message from Big Charles.
"I'm sure the money made it by now, I put extra to hold yaw over until things work out with your momma. Never hesitate to call if you need ANYTHING I'm still yaw dad no matter what Sheila says, I love you." Chelsea stomach turned, she didn't even get to see how much it was before Sheila shredded it."I'm ready Chelsea." Lil Charles said with his bags on his shoulder. Chelsea handed Lil Charles the phone and let him read the message from their dad.
"Do you believe him?" Lil Charles asked Chelsea. "Believe what?" "That we can call if we need anything." "We'll see tomorrow when we call an tell him we'll be moving in with him in less than 3 months." They walked out the door and started walking towards Treys house. Sheila was peeping out of her room window, she watched Chelsea and Lil Charles until they disappeared from her view as tears ran down her cheeks.
