𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐨𝐧 3 𝐞𝐩𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐝𝐞 5: 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐩𝐭 2 - - ┈┈∘┈˃̶༒˂̶┈∘┈┈ - - "𝐈𝐭'𝐬 only seven seconds I was able to decipher. But it's seven more than we had." Penelope says as she types away
"What are we looking at?" Hotch asks with furrowed eyebrows
"Surveillance footage I retrieved off a second camera on the first floor. It shows Katie exiting the arcade, follows her movements through the crowd. She went north.." Penelope says
"Until she completely disappears" Callie chimes in from where she's leant over Penelope.
"Criminy, I still can't make out who she was with."
"Seven seconds." Hotch begins
"All the images I could find, sir"
"That's all it takes for a child to disappear."
"If Katie was alone, the only stores in the vicinity, she would be walking toward would be furniture, stationery or bedding"
"A six year old wouldn't leave the arcade for that" Callie sighs
"Unless it wasn't a store that caught her eye." Hotch says looking at Callie
"I once followed Todd Cortel the entire length of silver beach because he had a kite." Penelope says simply and the corners of her mouth turns upwards.
"The right bait might lure her away from the crowd." Hotch says as he starts to walk out with Callie in tow.
- - ┈┈∘┈˃̶༒˂̶┈∘┈┈ - - 𝐀 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐦𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 Katie's necklace is found in a trash can, Callie and Hotch approach them.
"What'd you find?" Hotch asks
"Some necklace in the trash, bag and label it, in case there's any connection." Franklin says
"There is, Katie was wearing it otherwise the dog wouldn't have sniffed it out" Callie says crossing her bare arms
Hotch, Callie and JJ go to speaks with Katie's mother to try and understand who gave Katie the necklace. "She found it in the schoolyard about a year ago." Katie's mother says
"This is 24-karat gold and the stones are real." JJ points out
"Whoever lost it would have been looking for it. Is there any reason that Katie would have lied?" Hotch questions
