3 days later

- Today there's training for Saturday's game, are you ready? - I hear Ruby and turn to her, seeing her with her backpack on her back.

- I am, I want to do the best - I smile excitedly, seeing Cooper appear at the door already ready to take us.

- you always rock, Mali - she hugs me sideways, guiding me to the exit of the house.

I smile awkwardly, getting into the black car next to her. The game is this Saturday, and as in all important games, the cheerleaders will start and end the game, if your school wins.

The school is hectic, everyone wants the day to come soon to eliminate the rival school. Anxiety takes over me, knowing that I am the main one among the girls, and a wrong step, and it will joke for the rest of the year.

It's all crazy. After seeing my mother, I took some of the weight off my back, releasing my forgiveness to a woman who only tried to protect her children from a monster. Speaking of him. Robert called me last night, saying that he would only come back in two days, and that I was supposed to continue being his good girl.

I feel disgusted just listening to his voice and remembering every painful word my mother said, reminding me of every moment of pain I saw.

When Cooper stops in front of the big gates, I get out of the car along with Ruby.

- anything just call, Baker - he says, using his way of talking to me now.

- don't worry, Cooper - I turn my back to him, entering the school with Ruby who is jumping with happiness.

I can't help but smile with her cheerful way, which infects me and makes me excited for training. From afar, I see Joshua talking to Morgan in a strange way.

But when we got closer, they stopped talking and turned to us with a friendly smile. Ruby quickly hugged Morgan in a tight way, this approach of theirs makes me confused.

- Our cheerleader, excited? - Joshua hugs me sideways and I look at him at a glance.

He seems nervous.

- yes, a lot - I say, coming out of his grip, going to my locker.

While I put my things inside the locker, a small group passes by us, whispering something between us, laughing as they stare at me.

I close the locker, with the confused expression I turn around, with my arms crossed, trying to understand the reason for the whispers.

- What's going on? - I question, looking at each of them.

Joshua looks at me in a confused way, but I notice that he swallows dry. Ruby shrugs, looking to the side. Morgan, as for, she starts laughing, but soon stops, realizing that the weather is not pleasant.

- we don't know - Joshua says, and I agree with my head. - let's go to the room, the director will already leave his room - he walks out in front, then the two and I go after.

As I pass through the corridor, I hear more whispers, giggles and murmurs in my direction. I feel a chill down my spine, trying to imagine the bullshit they're making up about me.

As we entered the room, I sighed with relief when I noticed that no one had their gaze on me. I walk calmly to the last row, in the last seats I join Joshua and Ruby, since Morgan went to another room.

I look at the window, seeing the sun appear among the trees, with the tedious expression, knowing that this class is for Cantrall, and as it is not present, we will be alone and stuck here.

The room is busy, talking about Saturday's game. They get together with each other, play and talk nonsense.

But the silence that arises in the room makes me turn my face strangely, but I regret it when I see the tall figure at the door, holding briefcases while talking to the director excitedly.
