With a lazy look, I observe that the girls put themselves in their proper positions. I didn't need help to know every step they would have to take, the days I was watching Malia I learned every step, especially hers.
Everyone was ready, talking excitedly with each other about Saturday's game. Behind them, the coach gives firm orders to the boys, who have been training for two hours. This school has always taken the championships seriously, and with that, they always won.
- Teacher? - I look up at the owner of the voice, seeing Ruby smiling in front of me, with her leader's uniform.
- Yes? - I raise my eyebrow, with a formal voice, since here she is a mere student.
- Where is Malia? - her confused look asks me questions beyond the voice.
I open my mouth to answer that I haven't seen Baker for a long time, but I'm quiet when the curly appeared running, going to hug her friend.
- I'm here - she's panting, but she doesn't take the excited smile off her lips. - sorry for the delay, teacher
- with her hands on Ruby's shoulder, she turns her face, giving me a mocking smile.
I let out a low nasal laugh, getting up from the chair, keeping my gaze fixed on hers.
- no problem, Baker - I smile minimally, taking my eyes off them to see the other girls. - you can start, whenever you want - I say, putting my hands back, standing on the synthetic grass, analyzing each of them with caution.
Ruby hurries to go to her place, while Baker, she turns around calmly. Her steps are light, and her hip moves from side to side, giving a slight swing in her red skirt.
I look at the grass for a few seconds, until it's in its place. The song starts playing in a low tone and Malia begins to tell while the girls imitate her steps in a perfectly synchronized way.
They move with centering and agility, a perfectly calculated dance. I decide to sit down, already tired of standing up watching the same steps. I cross my legs, keeping my gaze fixed on each of them.
Malia for a moment stands out among them, being alone in the center while her colleagues move away to the side. The girl with her hands on her waist and an impeccable smile, gives me a heavy look before turning her back and taking three steps forward. Her turns in the air are so fast that I can barely keep up, her body turns tenderly, then she stops, now closer, with her chest rising and falling quickly, panting with a thin layer of sour on her forehead.
This girl manages to surprise me every day that passes.
She takes agile steps back, still panting, meeting the others quickly, but Malia raises her hand to the last girl and the sound is quickly turned off.
I'm still serious, waiting for them to do something, so I see Baker put her hand on one side of his waist and get closer.
- Teacher? We need Dylan to take the last step - she turns her face back, seeing that Dylan is turning the glass of water over her head.
I tilt my head a little to the side, crossing my arms. Malia turns her face, keeping her defiant smile on her lips.
I run my tongue over my lips, with a malicious smile bending over them next.
- Of course, call him! - for a moment I see her smile falter, but she keeps her posture and turns around, running to the boy who was a little far away.
I take a deep breath, trying to control myself. Malia is managing to provoke me, and this will have terrible consequences.
When she comes back smiling, Dylan comes right behind, looking at her body shamelessly. His brown irises stare at me and a cynical smile appears in his mouth.
I ignore its existence, keeping my control to the maximum. Malia will pay for it, even if I have to tie her up.
The song plays again, and I keep my gaze fixed on Baker, who smiles putting Dylan's hands firmly on his waist. Baker looks at me with a defiant glow in her brown irises, before being lifted and in seconds turned with balance in the air and fell perfectly on the other girls, panting, but smiling.
I smiled satisfied, getting up from the chair, approaching them.
- Perfect, girls! - I smile at them, who thank them low, going to get their water bottles to go to the locker room.
However, Malia stays in the same place, facing Dylan, who lets out a laugh before running towards his team. I bite my tongue inside my mouth, looking at the girl without any shame. Malia turns around, looks at me for a few seconds and smiles.
- Is everything okay, Cantrall? - she asks, crossing her arms, with a mocking smile on his lips.
- Do I seem to be sick? - I retort.
Malia shrugged, smiling sideways, approaching. - it's the tiredness of the trip - she whispers, bumping into my arm, then moving away.
I look at the floor, letting out a humorless laugh.
Malia should be more careful.
The signal echoes throughout the school, signaling that classes are over. For obvious reasons, the director decided to release them earlier this week.
Sigh, running my hand on the back of my neck, looking forward, seeing Dylan from afar, even too happy.
I turn on my back, guiding myself to the locker room, waiting for everyone to leave so I can lock the place. In minutes, they all left, but as always, there was one left and I had no choice but to enter.
Damn, I just want to leave! Is it asking too much?
As soon as I enter the place, I see Baker wrapped in the white towel, typing something on her cell phone, totally distracted. I lean sideways in the lockers, crossing my arms, waiting for her to notice my presence.
- Can the little princess speed it up? - her body turns on the heels, and her eyes staring at me With amazement.
- oh, it's you - her expression changes to disdain, turning around again, now releasing her cell phone on the bench, opening her locker.
The locker room is muffled, there is a slight cloud of steam over the air. The heat bothers me, so I take off my jacket.
- Can you excuse me? - I roll my eyes with her speech.
- when are you going to stop with this shit? What the fuck, Baker! - I exclaim, moving away from the wall, approaching her in heavy steps. - if you want, I can see everything again, huh? - I bend my lips in a malicious smile, feeling the heat of the place getting worse next to her.
Malia looks at me in a way I know well, knowing that it moved her weak point. She grabs the knot of the towel, as if she was going to fall at any moment, her part lips catch my attention, but I let her decide.
Her gaze is diverted down, and her cheeks turn pink. I put my hand on her chin, without any delicacy, lifting her face, seeing her dark irises shine intensely.
- I remembered something - a minimal smile appears on my lips. - your tutoring classes - Malia rolls her eyes, panting. - no need to worry, the visit will be at my house tonight. If you prefer, in my bed... - I whisper, releasing her chin, turning her back, leaving next.
Then I'll come back and close this locker room shit.
