I open my eyes scared, listening to the frantic and heavy knocks on the door. I sit on the bed, looking at Kylie, who moves, bothered by the noise.
- Malia Baker! Why is the door locked? Is there anyone in there? - the doorknob turns frantically, Robert's voice loaded with stress makes me get up.
- Shit... - I whisper, going to Kylie. - Kylie!
Get up now - she shakes, who turns up with her hands on her face. She snorts, then sits down. - my father, he's behind that door - I speak in a super low tone and she looks at the door with an inexplicable boredom.
- wasn't this old man going to arrive only on Saturday? - he asks in a low tone and I sigh.
- Kylie, it's not time! - I snort, leaving the room, going to the bathroom.
I look at myself in the mirror, with my hair misaligned and my neck totally stained. Fuck.
I run my hand through my hair, fixing some of the strands.
I take the bathrobe hanging next to the box and put it on, turning to the drawer under the marble sink, opening it and taking the concealer, passing on my neck quickly.
I sigh, when I finally see that I hid the purple and red marks on my neck. I leave the room, no longer listening to the desperate beats.
I look at Kylie, who is leaning against the wall next to the door, with her arms crossed and a playful smile on her lips.
- I thought you had already left - I walk to the bedroom window, seeing that it's early in the morning. - you have to run if you don't want to be late - I turn to her, fearing that Robert will knock on the door again.
- I will. - she approaches, in calm steps. - but first, I want you to accompany me to an event tomorrow - her eyes are heavy and dark.
I raise my eyebrow, confused. An event would be crazy, wouldn't it? And my father? He would be there.
- there's Robert... - I say, biting my lower lip.
- just answer me yes or no, Malia. I'll take care of the rest - I swallow dryly, crossing my arms before looking at your dark irises.
I'm undecided, going to this event would bring problems with the media, especially with Robert. Now if I don't go, maybe Kylie will call someone else, and this will be in the media, and then a new couple comes up.
- all right, I'll go - her sideways smile is born, making me happy. - what time? - I question, knowing that tomorrow is the big game.
- at eight - she informs, passing by me, sitting at the window. - I'll see you soon, kitty - she winks and smiles, before jumping the window.
I sigh, running my hand through my hair, feeling all that strange feeling that I know well come to the fore. Kylie is totally messing with me, and this is getting stronger and stronger and I feel a great fear that it will all be a hoax and that at any moment she will hurt me.
The house is silent again, which gives me chills. I unlock the bedroom door and open it, putting half of my body out, seeing the huge corridor and at the end of it, Robert talking on the phone.
He still turns around with his cell phone in his ear, looks at me in an angry way making me enter again and close the door.
I decide to go get ready so I won't be late. I go to the closet and remember Kylie when I see her jacket over my things. I totally forgot that I had taken the jacket forgotten in the locker room.
I take the piece of leather and my uniform, going to the bathroom.
...
I run down the stairs feeling evaluated by my father's arrogant look. I don't dare to raise my head to look at him, so I stop in front of him and Cooper, who waits to take me to school.
