Just outside the village, Kiri slaps her older brother across the face.

Kiri- I should steal Aonung from you right now.

Neteyam- Kiri-

Kiri- Don't "Kiri" me. At this point you don't even deserve him. How could you cheat on him just like that?

Neteyam- I-

Kiri- Because you've never been loyal a day in your life, especially when Yuuki is around.

She snarls in frustration at him.

Kiri- I told you to be careful.

Neteyam- I thought I was.

Kiri- No. You thought you changed, but what really changed was your surroundings. You're obviously still the same guy.

Neteyam- I love Aonung, you know that.

Kiri- I also know that you said that to everyone you've ever been involved with.

Neteyam- It's different with him.

Kiri- Is it? You didn't even introduce him as your boyfriend. Sounds just like everyone else to me. Might as well let him off the hook before you really hurt him.

Neteyam- Why, so you can come in for the taking? I don't think so.

She crosses her arms and leans against the tree across from him.

Kiri- Still selfish too, I see. Gotta have everyone to yourself.

Neteyam- I'm not like that.

Kiri- Prove it. Stay away from Yuuki, and prioritize your boyfriend on your hunt today.

Neteyam- No problem there.

Kiri- We'll see about that.

Everyone, minus Kiri and Tuktirey, are gathered at the weapons' den when Neteyam arrives. Both Korva and Yuuki, being hunters, have agreed to take them out hunting, while also exploring the area.

Lo'ak has a bow, and some arrows in a quiver that Rotxo is carrying for him. Rotxo is better at hunting with a net, and his aim isn't sharp enough for the bow and arrow.

Spider has a bow and is carrying his own arrows, while Tsireya has the same, because he's planning to teach her how to use them.

Aonung, with a very clear preference, chooses to use a spear. It's always been his favorite weapon, no matter how many times he's used a crossbow or a dagger.

With their bows and arrows, Yuuki and Korva stand ready, and the moment Neteyam comes in, he grabs the same.

Korva- This guy hunts with a spear? His aim must be crazy good.

Neteyam- Yeah, and he's really strong too, so you might wanna stay out of his way.

Neteyam smirks at Korva, talking his lover up.

Lo'ak- That won't do him any good with how clumsy he is. With the noise he makes, he'll scare off the prey.

Aonung- Keep talking and I'll make you the prey.

Everyone shares a laugh, and Korva smiles, thinking they're dynamic amusing.

Yuuki- Are you guys ready?

Lo'ak- Ready to eat me and Rotxo's dust, hell yeah they are.

Spider- No way. Tsireya could beat him. Couldn't you?

Tsireya- On the ground, maybe, but not in the trees.

Lo'ak- Ha.

Neteyam- Aonung could beat both of them.

Lo'ak- You're kidding right?

Neteyam- No. He can do it, or I'll kick his ass.

Yuuki giggles, and reaches for Neteyam's arm to hold, but he holds his bow up, pretending he's testing it and not just avoiding the girl's touch.

Korva- Let's go.

As they head out, Yuuki leads in the front. Korva is with Lo'ak and Rotxo. Spider and Tsireya are behind them, and Neteyam is in the back with Aonung.

As the marine boy spins and twirls his weapon around for fun, the two converse for the first time since arriving.

Aonung- How was your night? You didn't kill anyone did you?

Neteyam- It was fun, and no I didn't kill anyone.

Aonung- Just checking.

Neteyam rolls his eyes playfully.

Neteyam- What about you?

Aonung- It was nice. Spider showed us a pond that was really peaceful.

Neteyam- Should've known the fish boy would be in water. How was it?

Aonung- It was relaxing, but . . .

Neteyam- But?

Aonung- Nothing, nevermind.

He refrains from saying he missed Neteyam's presence, not wanting him to think he needs to pull away from his friends. It would be ridiculous if he had to do that after just one night.

Neteyam- Aonung, you said you wouldn't do that anymore.

With more than just their relationship being affected by their actions, they both agreed to not hold things back from each other, to keep from creating any problems that might distract them from their chiefly duties.

Aonung- Sorry. It was just different, that's all.

Neteyam- Have you never been in a pond before then?

Aonung- I never needed to. Who would choose a small pool of water over the reef?

Neteyam- Fair point. We should go back together this evening.

Aonung- Wouldn't you rather spend some time with your friends?

Neteyam- I have all day for that. Don't reject my date proposal.

Aonung laughs softly at him, and Neteyam's tail sways seeing his smile.

It makes him want to punch himself a million times over for spending the night with Yuuki. He won't let that happen again.
