Lo'ak, Rotxo, Somtra, and Korva head to the communal eating area. After grabbing their food, they find a place off to the side to sit, rather than at the tables.Rotxo sighs as he eats his food, feeling useless since they've been left behind with no specific orders. Jake seems to think they're better off not helping, which is disappointing.
They've each worked hard in the past couple of years to become as skilled as they have, and even Lo'ak has matured.
After all the effort, they're still seen as kids.
Lo'ak- What's up?
Rotxo- I feel like we should be doing something.
Lo'ak- We're better off doing nothing right now, trust me. If we got into trouble with my dad now he'd really have a reason to exclude us.
Somtra- Coming here got you into trouble, I'm sorry.
Lo'ak- It's fine, we don't blame you. I am kinda bored though.
Korva- Same. What should we do?
Somtra- Maybe something productive, to prove your competence.
Lo'ak- Hm, that would be a smart idea.
Korva- Or, we could do something the chief doesn't care about.
They each look at the smirk on his face.
Lo'ak- What do you have in mind?
Korva- Help me find a girlfriend.
Rotxo- (laughs)
Korva- I'm serious. You guys are making me more lonely than I already was.
Lo'ak- I'm in, only for a good laugh.
Rotxo- Me too.
Somtra- I don't think I'll be of much help, but I'll tag along.
Korva- Yes!
Kiri- What are you boys getting hyped about?
Tsireya and Kiri walk up to them in interest, without the younger siblings who they left with Neytiri.
Rotxo- We're gonna get Korva a girlfriend. Well, try to at least.
Lo'ak- Yeah, the poor guy's lonely.
Tsireya- Aww. Can we help?
Korva- If by help you mean break up with Spider for me then yes.
Lo'ak smakcs Korva in the head and the boy starts laughing.
Korva- Chill, bro, I'm just kidding. But really, I like how different your reef friends are. Ever thought about how the babies would look?
A blush spreads across Tsireya's face. She's never stopped to think of what children between an Omatikayan and Metkayinan would look like.
Kiri- That's an interesting topic. Would they be more equipped for the reef or the forest?
Rotxo- A darker version of Tsireya would be so cute.
Somtra- Where would you raise them?
Tsireya- Uh, I haven't thought about that until now.
Lo'ak- Easy, guys, she's not even of age yet.
Kiri- She should still think about it though. Are you going back home after this is over or staying here?
Tsireya- Well, as long as I'm with Spider it doesn't matter to me.
Yune- I would think you'd go back to Awa'atlu, to replace your mother.
The mood instantly turns tense as the green eyed boy approaches them.
Somtra- Even after being hurt and vulnerable you still manage to have not a bit of sensitivity.
Yune- And you still manage to be over sensitive even after I told you to get over it.
Somtra snarls lightly at him, and the others look between the two. Lo'ak is surprised to see the normally calm natured boy get so instantly upset, but he isn't the only one.
Everyone familiar with Yune gives him a cold look, except for Lo'ak, who has found himself becoming the peacekeeper yet again.
Lo'ak- Guys, calm down. Like it or not, we're stuck with each other.
Tsireya- That doesn't mean he has to be around us. He knows we don't want him here.
Lo'ak- Come on, Reya, cut him some slack.
Everyone looks at him with attitude, making him sigh as he turns to Yune.
Lo'ak- How are you feeling?
Yune stares deeply at Lo'ak for a moment, and Somtra can already tell by the look on his face he's about to say something intruding.
Yune- Pretending to be the responsible one won't make you seem more competent.
Lo'ak's kind expression drops instantly.
Lo'ak- What?
Yune- You are not your brother, no matter how hard you may try to be.
Rotxo snarls harshly at him, and stands in front of Lo'ak.
Rotxo- You better watch your mouth before you get injured again.
Tsireya- I second that.
Yune then stares at Tsireya, looking between her and Rotxo.
Yune- Well, you two are certainly interesting.
Kiri- Oh fuck off with that orb reading shit.
Yune- Hm. I suppose I'll keep that one to myself.
Somtra- Go do something else with yourself instead of coming to us knowing we don't want you around.
Yune- If I really cared every time people didn't want me around, I'd be better off dead. But, I'll leave this time, since I have other matters to tend to.
As the green eyed boy leaves, Korva frowns at the others.
Korva- That was harsh.
Kiri- You don't know what he did.
Rotxo- He once tried to kill Aonung, and we thought he succeeded.
Korva- . . . Still, he looks so lonely, man.
Tsireya- After what he said to Lo'ak, you think he's a good guy?
Korva- Just because someone isn't as nice as you want them to be doesn't mean you have to straight up treat them like shit. You guys didn't even try to get along with him, only Lo'ak did.
Rotxo- And you saw how that went for him.
Somtra- Exactly. Why should we spare any kindness to someone who doesn't appreciate it?
Korva- When exactly have you shown any kindness to him? Just out of curiosity.
They each share looks, knowing they haven't since finding out what he did to Aonung. There were no efforts to keep him around, or settle anything, they simply rejected him.
But Somtra is starting to feel like this matter isn't any of Korva's business. So with a deep sigh, he leaves.
The others watch him leave, and Tsireya looks with concern.
Tsireya- Have you ever seen him so angry?
Lo'ak- Only when it comes to Yune.
Rotxo- He must've pissed him off bad.
Korva- I kinda thought he seemed like a reasonable guy, guess I was mistaken.
