Sebastian's pov

First day of first year

Ominis smacked me hard on the back as we stood at the train station. "First day of Hogwarts..." he said to me as I tried to run where he hit me.

"Are you okay?" I asked him realizing he looked nervous. He nodded quickly but that wasn't really convincing.

"Guys!" Poppy's small voice yelled over all the kids. "I want you to meet my new friend!" She dragged over a girl shorter than her with auburn curls that went to her shoulders. She was the cutest girl I've ever met.

"This is Ava! Her dad works with my grandma." Poppy swayed back and forth while Ava stood awkwardly next to her.

"Hi I'm Sebastian, this is Ominis." She smiled and waved.

"Bonjour," she said in a soft voice.

"Oh! I forgot she's learning English still," poppy giggled, "she was raised in France,"

"I speak... okay English," Ava giggled at the end of her sentence.

Holy crap she sounds so cute when she speaks English. Ava looked at me and her eyes got big.

Ominis looked at me and his eyes also got big and he quickly covered my eyes, "glow eyes! Glow eyes!" He panicked.

"Still?" Poppy asked as if it was a sickness that would go away. "Is Anne still picking on you because of it?"

"Yeah she is," I looked over my shoulder at Anne as she talked to her friends loudly. She looked back at me and stuck her tongue out.

"Are you excited to go to Hogwarts?" Ominis asked Ava.

She smiled and nodded. "Yes! I want the home with the baked goods!" She said loudly.

Poppy sighed, "no Ava, you don't choose the house, the hat chooses," Ava mumbled something in French, "no I don't know why a hat chooses." Poppy answered.

Present day

"Dad." Eleazar's voice made me look up from the painting of the Hogwarts Express that I had zoned out on.

"What?"

"The ghost is trying to talk to you," I followed where he was pointing but already knew who it was based on her fucking voice.

"Excuse me! I'm your aunt! Sallow!" Giselle pointed at me. "Ava said to tell you that bitch is in the owl tower," she put her hands on her hips and turned around to say something to someone who wasn't there. "Oh... I forgot Ava isn't a ghost. I may have got too excited and came without her," she shrugged. "My work is done, I'm going to find my brother,"

She disappeared while Eleazar turned on his heels towards the direction of the owl tower. "Let's go,"

We hurried through the school and outside. As we grew closer to the tower I could already see Ava at the base of the tower struggling to climb up.

El began to speak up but I shushed him and made us stay back. Ava's cheeks were bright red as she tried to step on the first step. I knew as soon as she took the first step she'd be fine.

I watched her stomp her foot in frustration and finally take the first step. Her shoulders relaxed and then I gave El the okay for us to go.

"Mum!" Eleazar called to her. She looked over her shoulder and stoped.

"I thought you'd already be up there," she looked a bit guilty. "I was trying to let you have your moment,"

I took her hand make El cringe, "we go do this together," I said firmly. "We do everything together just like first year,"
