Sebastian's pov
Ava sat on the couch holding the baby up so she can get a better look. It was a girl. She was older than Cordelia. Ever since she was brought into the room I felt a tense tightness that I couldn't put my finger on the source.
"She looks maybe.... Five months old," my wife suggested. "She's mighty cute though," Ava rubbed the baby's cheek making the baby smile.
"And she was just... in the crib?" I asked Eleazar.
"Yeah, she was asleep next to Cordy." He answered as Abby still had a confused look on her face. "There was a charm around her room. The only people who could get in there was us,"
Ava stood up and held the baby next to my face. "Hmm..."
"What?"
"She looks like you," she went back to cradling the baby, "maybe she's another one of ours," Ava kissed the babies forehead.
"I thought we weren't having anymore,"
Ava laughed, "maybe the future us didn't listen. But why is she here?"
I could see that look in Ava's eyes as she smiled at the baby. "No, oh no, no no-" I was cut off by the sound of a new door adding to the hallway. "Avs our little kid days are over," El looked at me as I said Avs but I followed Ava as she walked into the new room.
She had turned it into a nursery. I rolled my eyes but couldn't help but smile. "It's just until we figure out who she is," she started to baby talk the baby, "and we get you home to your momma!" The baby smiled back at her.
Eleazar peeked in, "you guys don't think she's from this time?" He asked.
"Absolutely not, I can already sense the ancient magic coming from her and she's just a baby. I couldn't sense you and your siblings magic till you were at least seven or eight," So that was the tenseness I had been feeling the entire time since they brought the baby. "You're a tough little one aren't you?"
There was another knock at the door and I heard Abby call that she'd get it. "Oh, hello Mr. La Fey," she said loud enough for us to hear.
"Why are you yelling?" Marc asked.
Ava giggled and walked into the living room with the baby. Marc looked at the baby in Ava's arms and his eyes got wide.
"More?" He asked making her roll her eyes.
"Eleazar found her," she clarified.
Marc looked at the baby and then he snapped his head to me, "the kids yours," he said with a slightly accusatory tone.
I put my hands up in defense, "I'm just as confused as you right now,"
His eyes narrowed, "If Andre and I find out..."
"Marc!" Ava said over her older brother making him close his mouth. "Why are you here at seven in the morning?"
"Evelin was spotted," he said without looking away from me. "Clagmar Coast," He finally looked this little sister. "Last night. The farmer said they only saw her for a moment,"
"We should go then," Ava sighed and handed the baby to Eleazar. El opened his mouth to protest once he realized he wasn't going but Ava hushed him. "Protect your family," she said to him in a firm voice.
"Yes Mum," he sighed.
"I'm just get dressed really fast, then we'll go." She walked past me and hurried into our room.
Marc and I watched her go before he turned me to look at him. "Who's the mother?" He asked in a deep voice.
I looked at my son confused but he and Abby looked at each other and walked out of the house with the babies. "Let's go see if the sunflowers are blooming," El said quickly.
"Marc, I don't have any other children." I told him honestly. "Before I came here I hadn't even done anything like that in at least ten years. so if there was a child it wouldn't be a baby." I said the last part in a hushed tone.
"The kid looks just like you," marc hissed back.
"It could possibly be a future baby of me and Ava's," I pointed out.
Marc shook his head and ran his fingers through his hair like Ava does. "Listen to me Sallow," he yanked my shirt so that his face was an inch from mine. "If I find out... that you did something... I will kill you before Ava can even register what happened," he whispered.
"Why are you accusing me of stuff? You weren't like this before I died,"
He let me go, "I liked you before you died, get ready to go,"
I sighed and walked into our bedroom. Ava was finishing up getting dressed and lacing up her boots. "Are you okay?" She asked when she saw the look on my face.
"Uh... yeah, has your brother always been scary?"
Ava giggled, "he has,"
_______
As we aparated to the coast Andre was already there waiting for us with Ominis. We walked up to them I immediately saw the thick miasma.
"We were able to get most of the town out... but we lost one farmer..." Ominis' head dropped.
"What is it?" Ava asked.
"Evelin was able to turn the killing curse into a physical gas. I was investigating it back in my world but I didn't find out it was her until after I had been here. It takes about twenty four hours to completely dissipate." I explained as I scared of some rabbits near by so they'd avoid the area.
"She must have released it right after she was spotted," Marc guessed.
"We should aparate around the vicinity and try to see if she's still near by," everyone nodded at Ava suggestion. "Cast periculum if you see her or need help,"
Everyone left leaving just Ava and I alone. She squeezed my hand and smiled at me, "we got this," she assured me.
"We do,"
