Jayden (POV):

"That new doctor is pretty hot isn't she Jay?" Whispered Kellen, I couldn't take my eyes off her as she left the room.

"It's rude to stare" My jaw clenched at the comment. I knew Kellan was just bugging me, but the idea of someone checking her out rubbed me the wrong way.

"Says the girl who's mouth was basically on the floor. You know you really aren't that subtle you might want to work on that." Kellan really knew how to push my buttons even if it was just a bit of fun.

"I wasn't staring, I just wasn't expecting her to look like that." I mumbled.

"To look like what?" Seth replied with a smirk.

"I uh hm I don't know a goddess?" I could feel heat rush to my face. I'm not entirely sure why I admitted that. Clearly I have no self preservation, willingly giving Kellan and Seth more ammo to tease me with.

"She's a goddess eh?" Kellan smirked trying to hold back some laughter.

"Just shut up, I'm going for a walk." I huffed as I made my way towards the castle doors. Behind me I could hear both Kellan and Seth chuckling as I walked away.

"You sure you don't want any company?" Seth said in between snickers.

"I'd rather die" I deadpanned before shoving the doors open and making my way into the courtyard.

The cool autumn air blew across the courtyard causing the leaves in the trees to rustle. I took in a deep breath enjoying the smell of the fall air. This time of year was debatably my favorite time of year. The temperature was perfect and the way the forest looked in the fall was absolutely captivating. For a moment I debated whether or not to take another walk along the beach or just wander the courtyard. Aurora crossed my mind for a brief moment and I decided to stay by the castle incase she ended up wanting a tour.

The courtyard was buzzing with people buying and selling goods. Children played on the playground that was near the market, mothers watched their children play as they continued their shopping. A smile tugged at my lips as I watched the families enjoying their day. As I watched the idea of having a family drifted through my mind. If I was honest with myself I had never actually put much thought into having a family. My mum had lived without out a mate for the majority of her life, which made me see just how strong my mum was. However since seeing my mum and Sophie together something felt like it sparked inside of me. Over time the idea had grown on me more and more. So much so that I wondered why I never felt like I needed a mate to begin with. Suddenly a body collided with me pulling me out of my thoughts. The force of the body caused me to fall backwards. Luckily with my quick reflexes I was able to brace myself for the most part.

"Oh my gosh I'm so sorry! I was totally in my own little world." The voice was familiar but not one that I knew well.

Baby blue eyes looked down at me, my breath caught in my throat as I stared back up at her. I know I literally just saw this woman a mere couple hours ago, but she looks even more stunning now. She was dressed in tight black skinny jeans, the fabric had been torn on the knees. Aurora had changed into a white tank top that was partially covered by a dark blue plaid shirt. Her sleeves were rolled up exposing toned forearms that were covered in tattoos. By the looks of it most of her body was covered. The only place that didn't have many tattoos was her face. My eyes trailed her face and were then drawn to full pink lips, I watched as her tongue poked out to wet her lips. Slowly I drifted my eyes up to hers, we held each others gaze for a moment until I realized I never responded to her.

"It's okay I'm fine, I wasn't exactly looking where I was going either." I chuckled as I pulled myself up off the ground.

"It's been a long day, which apparently means zoning off into space. Hopefully once I'm rested I won't be such a space cadet." Aurora spoke with a soft smile.
