Aurora (POV):
After speaking with Dill I decided to take a long bath. The conversation itself had been rather emotional. Hearing the pain in Dylan's voice was absolutely crushing. I wasn't sure how we were going to get Jayden out of here. The idea of taking her away from Vivian now was kind of heartbreaking. Yes Vivian had kidnapped her, but the relationship the two had built was a strong one. One that was built on love and trust, if Vivian had forgotten everything then that would mean that there was no ulterior motive to her behavior. It was clear as day that Jayden also reciprocated those feelings. The only way I was going to be able to figure out what to do was by starting at the core. I needed to find out what happened to Vivian's memory.
As I sank back into the hot water I racked my brain for anything that might be able to help. I knew there were a few witches that dealt in mind magic. Although I wasn't entirely sure they would help me. Being a hybrid doesn't make you many allies, if anything it seemed to repel people. Everyone thought I was dangerous and too much of a risk to work with. Well everyone but Gabriela, she was the only one to see passed my mixed genetics. Just then an idea popped into my head.
'Hey Gabby are you there?' I called out into the mind link.
'Yeah I'm here, I'm kind of surprised you are reaching out again already.' Gabby chuckled.
'Well apparently the bath is where I have all my brilliant idea's. Figured I would reach out while it was fresh on my mind.' I leaned back into the water letting my head float above the surface.
'Well let's hear it little one'
'One I'm not little you are shorter than me and two I was thinking maybe you could come here. Dylan filled you in on the situation right?' Gabriela enjoyed teasing me and honestly I quite enjoyed our back and forth.
'Uh yeah she did, but why would me coming there help. Plus why would she let me in? She has no reason to, I've never even worked for her before.' I knew Gabriela was going to be skeptical at first.
'But that's why you're perfect for this. The last time she saw you was when we rescued Astrid and Ivy. If she truly lost her memory there's no way she would recognize you."
Gabriela and Vivian had only met a handful of times. Which meant Vivian should know her if memories weren't actually wiped.
'But why do you need me there? I mean it doesn't sound like anything bad is happening.' I knew Gabriela was hesitant it was a risk getting her to come here.
'No you are right nothing bad is happening but you have a skill that I don't have'
'Which is what?' Gabriela asked curiously.
'You've worked with mind magic before and you know I haven't really dipped my toes into that. If you could just come here and get a read on Vivian's mind we would figure out if her mind was truly wiped. You could also see if the witch who did it left a trace of their magic. Clearly the person who did it has some kind of motive this whole situation is a lot bigger than we think.' I explained I knew my logic would appeal to her.
'I agree with you Aurora I just don't know how you would convince her to let me come there. I mean I'm sure she's not going to want some stranger wandering around her castle.'
'You just get packed and I'll deal with the rest. Oh and before I go there was something else I wanted to talk to you about' I said with a smirk knowing I was about to stir the pot.
'Oh yeah and what's that?' Gabriela asked nervously.
Jayden (POV):
"Best day ever!" I yelled as I flung myself onto my bed.
