Aurora (POV):
It had been almost a week since Gabriela and Storm had arrived, it still wasn't entirely clear whether or not Gabriela would be staying. Vivian seemed to like Gabriela, which gave me hope that she might agree to having her here longer. Storm however had to head back home, not that Vivian or Gabby wants her to leave. Aria and Dylan were still against her staying, Ivy and Alex however seemed to trust that Gabby was capable of taking care of her. I personally was on Gabby's side I didn't think it was necessary for her to leave, if anything it would make things look bad. Mates typically didn't leave each other for long periods of time, which is why Alex, Ivy and I think that it's better she stays here. Plus once I tell Vivian she's heading home, there will definitely be some red flags raised. However I wasn't entirely sure how Aria and Dylan would get her to leave if she didn't want to.
Today was the first day I had the majority of the day to myself. Everyone seemed to be busy with their own things. Gabriela and Storm were currently having lunch with Vivian and Sophie. Meanwhile Jayden was busy training with Kellan, which I had debated on going to watch. I loved watching Jayden train she was incredibly talented for her age. However the idea of going out for a run had won me over. I hadn't been on a run since I had last went to the beach with Jayden. After reminding myself of how good it felt to just run, I now found myself itching to do it more often. Which leads us to now, the wind was whipping through my hair as I weaved through the thick forest. The smell of pine trees tickled my nose, the scent reminded me of being with the Avery's. All of their scents were varying scents of the outdoors. Suddenly I felt sand beneath my feet, I had been so caught up in my own little world I hadn't noticed the beach come into view.
My eyes scanned over the beach, I noticed a familiar head of chocolaty locks, she was leaning up against the same rock with her face buried in a book. I approached quietly attempting not to disturb her, but I was also very curious as to what she was reading. As I approached a light breeze danced across my skin, bringing a long with it a strong coconut scent. Fuck she smelt so good, it was hard to get my brain to focus when her scent basically had me in a chokehold.
"You know you are terrible at being stealthy." Jasmine spoke with a slight smirk, her eyes never leaving the book.
"How did you... What the hell I was so quiet!" I muttered the last part to myself.
"Not as quiet as you thought apparently" Jasmine glanced over her shoulder, her eyes were a gorgeous shade of green against the afternoon sun.
"Maybe I wanted you to hear me." I shrugged as I sat down beside her.
"By the way where the hell have you been?! I've been waiting for you to come back here alone." Jasmine gently punched my shoulder.
"But I came back the next day?" I said with a puzzled look.
"Yeah but Jayden was with you, I thought we were going to talk about our next steps. Plus you said we have to wait to complete the mate bond, and well I'm not going to be able to control myself around her. So I've decided to avoid her for the time being, even though it kills me inside." Jasmine started to frown, the look of sadness on her face broke my heart.
"Hey come here." I opened my arms to her, without hesitation she wrapped her arms tightly around my waist.
"Oh I almost forgot my father wants to meet with you. I told him about our situation and he wants to help." Jasmine said as she nuzzled her head against my chest.
"Does that mean you are going to tell me what you are?" My excitement had taken over a little, the mystery of what kind of supernatural she was, had been on my mind since I had met her.
"I'm going to tell you, but you need to promise not to tell anyone." Jasmine's voice became serious.
"I promise" I smiled as my excitement began to bubble over.
