Aurora (POV):
Sunlight peeked out from behind my curtains. The warmth of the sun's rays caused me to stir awake. I blinked a few times to adjust my vision and the room started to come into focus. For a moment I forgot where I was as I glanced around the room. Then suddenly all the memories from yesterday came flooding back in.
'Jayden is safe' I thought to myself, causing a smile to break out over my face.
Speaking of Jayden, I need to get up and get ready before she gets here. I realized as I headed towards the bathroom that we hadn't specified a time. She had only said that she would see me in the morning, which now that I think about it is incredibly vague. I hurried into the shower just in case she showed up shortly.
The hot spray of the shower against my cool skin sent goosebumps across my skin. Unlike pure blood vampires I was slightly more sensitive to the change in temperatures. Which was a slight downside of being a hybrid. Extreme temperatures were a challenge for me just like it would be for a witch or a human for that matter. My muscles began to relax as my body adjusted to the temperature. As I washed my hair I thought back to my conversation with Gabby after Jayden had left. She had seemed more at ease with the idea of doing a week trial period.
I couldn't blame her for feeling nervous about coming back here. We all had terrible memories from this place, although unlike the others I have positive memories associated with this place. This castle was the place Jayden was born, the place where I first met my mate. Yes there were more dark memories than positive, but I would always cherish the moment I looked into Jayden's eyes for the first time. So yes I was happy that Gabby was taking the risk of coming here.
After toweling myself off I made my way into the bedroom. Since Jayden had mentioned horseback riding and the beach I figured something comfy would be the best option. I searched through my bag until I could find my black bikini, deciding I'd wear it under my clothes just in case. After putting on the bikini I threw on a pair of grey track pants and my favorite rose gold sweater. Just as I was throwing up my hair into a messy bun there was a knock on my door. I quickly finished my hair before answering the door.
On the other side of the door stood a slightly nervous looking Jayden. Her hair was pulled back into a ponytail, a few strands of hair had fallen out framing her face perfectly. She wore black basketball shorts and a black hoodie. This was the first time I had seen her legs bare and even they were covered in tattoos.
"Planning on robbing someone?" I smirked as my eyes trailed over her. Jayden glanced down at her outfit, her expression was unreadable.
"I just think that black looks good on me." She said with a smug smirk. I couldn't help but chuckle at the double meaning.
"I mean you're not wrong black does look really good on you" I said, placing a hand on her bicep and giving it a slight squeeze.
"I uh you look really good too" Jayden said awkwardly, clearly trying to recover from what I just said.
"Thank you, so did you want to go horseback riding or test out my speed." I wiggled my eyebrows causing Jayden to snort.
"I must say I am curious to see how fast you can run. Although are you really running at your fastest if you have me on your back?" Jayden said skeptically.
"I mean when I picked you up yesterday you honestly felt like nothing. I doubt it would hinder my speed by much if by any." I said with a shrug.
"So do you really have the same amount of strength as a regular vampire?" Jayden asked excitedly.
"Yes I am just as strong as a vampire, but I also have the ability to use magic so I mean you understand why others fear me." Jayden's eyes went wide as she really processed what I was saying.
