We received word that the conference meeting in Lanling will be held in one week. That was enough time for Lan Zhan and I to make a plan. As we had newfound abilities, we found we can become invisible. No one would see us walking into Lanling and enter the meeting. When the time was right, we would come out and trap everyone inside. Baoshan will be nearby and when we have everyone, she will use a spell to get the truth out of Jin Guangyao.

All Lan Zhan and I had to do was be prepared for anything to happen. There was no telling what will happen and how Jin Guangyao will try to worm his way out of the situation. He has been in power for too long and has harmed many. He has framed me and he is the suspect to Chifeng Zun's death.

Once we devised a plan, Lan Zhan and I went to meet with Baoshan and Jiang Cheng, as we were still in Lotus Pier. We ate a nice breakfast first before we went to Jiang Cheng's office, "Lan Zhan and I have a plan in mind," I said, "since the meeting is in a week, Lan Zhan and I can perfect our invisibility. We can be in the conference meeting without even being seen."

"I will be wearing an appearance alteration talisman. I will be going as a guest from Yunmeng," Baoshan said, "we have Nie Huaisang's concerns and we will make sure we get the answers we need."

"We were thinking we block others from leaving," I said, "we thought it was best not to leave until we got the truth out."

"It might be the best option," Baoshan said, "did you two want to speak to Qiren about this?"

"We want to but it's hard to tell if anyone else is around him," Lan Zhan said, "we have charms to keep out eavesdroppers, but people can get past that if they notice it."

"You two are immortal beings, your charms cannot be broken by a mere cultivator," Baoshan said.

"I suppose we can go talk to him, he should know what to expect," I suggested.

Lan Zhan nodded. He and I then teleport to Cloud Recesses. Lan Qiren was in his office that was attached to the Orchid Room, also known as the Lecture hall. Once inside his office, I placed a barrier around the room to keep others from entering and listening in.

"Wei Wuxian, Wangji," Lan Qiren greeted, "I take it you received my letter about the conference?"

"We did," I said as Lan Zhan and I sat across from Lan Qiren at his desk, "we came to tell you about a plan that we had set."

"I am listening," he said.

We explained what we planned on doing and we thought it would be best that we get all the answers we could. No one should leave until we had the truth come out.

"I agree with you on this one," Lan Qiren said, "what about Xichen?"

"We think he is being manipulated into this somehow," I said, "I don't think he is doing all this intentionally. There has to be more to it. He was raised here after all and he is the sect leader, he has to have his morals. Something just doesn't seem right with him being around Jin Guangyao."

"That I agree with," Lan Qiren nodded, "how do you plan to get the truth out?"

"Well, we have truth spells we could use but we will give them a chance to come out on their own first. Lan Zhan and I will remain hidden until we have the signal from Jiang Cheng."

"You sure you can trust that boy?" Lan Qiren asked.

"No, but at this point, we will have to try," I answered, "he did try to kill me but I felt his actions were justified at the time due to lack of evidence and the current situation that was present."

"He isn't giving you problems now?" Lan Qiren asked.

"No," I replied, "he has repented, but he is also afraid of my grandmother."

"That woman can scare us all," Lan Qiren said.

"She's not that bad, just don't give her a reason to come after you," I said.

"Are you going to remain hidden until the meeting then?" Lan Qiren asked, getting back on topic.

"Yes, we will be headed back to Celestial Mountain until the meeting," Lan Zhan answered.

"Alright, let me know if anything changes," Lan Qiren said.

With that said, Lan Zhan and I left. We sent a message to Baoshan to tell her we are heading to the Mountain. Once we got back, I needed a much needed rest. Lan Zhan followed me to the hot spring and joined me for a meditation session. We definitely needed it.

"Lan Zhan?" I asked after a long while.

"Hmm?" He hummed and opened his eyes to look at me.

"Do you think this will work?" I asked, "we may be powerful but there will be a lot of people who will more than likely not want to listen to reason."

"That is why Baoshan will be there and we will make this happen," he said, "we will get through this."

I nodded. After some time in the spring, we went back to our room. I was in need of some much needed cuddles from Lan Zhan.

"When I was younger I thought I would never have someone to call mine," I told him.

"Mnn, I was the same, but I didn't focus on people, I focused on my studies," Lan Zhan said.

The two of us were lying down in bed together and he held me close to him. We laid on our sides facing each other. My head rested on his chest as my arms wrapped around him, and his arms were around me. Our legs were entangled with each other too. We laid as if we couldn't let a single part of us be apart in anyway.

"I didn't really focus on studies but I was doing my best to handle Madam Yu's wrath. She's dead but she still haunts me sometimes," I admit.

"I won't let anyone hurt you ever again," Lan Zhan declared, "I promise you."

"I know, but there isn't any guarantee that I won't get hurt somehow," I said, "even if it's emotionally or mentally."

"I think after this meeting, no one will even consider lashing out at you, especially when they know your grandmother is on your side," Lan Zhan said.

"She isn't afraid to harm someone either," I pointed out.

Lan Zhan placed a kiss on top of my head, "it will be okay, and I will be here with you through it all."

"Mnn, I love you," I said.

"I love you too," he replied.
