~*Wei Wuxian's POV*~

I feel like I am out of my mind for returning to Lotus Pier like this. It feels like a fever dream, Jiang Cheng has changed a lot, he didn't yell, he didn't scold, he didn't even threaten me. He introduced himself to A'Yuan as, Shishu, and then we took A'Yuan to see Jin Ling. Jin Ling was still a couple years younger than A'Yuan, but he was still okay with him. It was the first time I saw Jin Ling and he reminds me more of his father than his mother. He does have her eyes though.

After introducing A'Yuan to Jin Ling and Elder Li Hua, we allowed A'Yuan to share a room with Jin Ling for now. After dropping him off, Jiang Cheng brought Baoshan to her guest room. Jiang Cheng told me my old room was still here so I led Lan Zhan there with me. It was getting late so we will make plans tomorrow. Once we got to my room, I felt the tension that built up drop as it was now just Lan Zhan and me. I saw Lan Zhan place a barrier around the room for privacy. When he turned to me I threw myself at him, wrapping my arms around his waist and burst into tears in his chest.

"I am here," I heard him say, as he tried to comfort me. I felt him walk us backwards until we reached the bed and we climbed in and cuddled together.

"I am so overwhelmed," I said.

"I can feel it through our bond," he said, "how about a bath to relax?"

"Mnn, that sounds nice," I said, "but I am so comfortable here in your arms. Why would I move?"

I heard him let out a small chuckle, "we would need to get up to change at least anyway," he reminded me.

I whined and decided to move off his lap, "fine."

He leans down so he was inches from my face and then nuzzled his nose to mine, "it will only take a moment and then you can cling to me all you want. Let me go prepare it."

I smiled and grabbed his face and pulled him closer to kiss me. I relaxed further the moment our lips touched. He was my comfort, my security, and my life. After a moment, I let Lan Zhan go so he could prepare the bath. Once he walked away, I sighed and sat up. I decided to get our robes set for tomorrow and our night robes for tonight. I finished by the time Lan Zhan returned.

"It is ready," he said.

I nodded and followed him. I undressed and got in with him. He helped me wash my hair. This man was amazing. I don't know how I got so lucky to be with this man, and I often feel like I do not deserve him. Fate thought otherwise though and gave me a priceless treasure. I will forever cherish Lan Zhan and love him dearly. When we finished our bath, we dressed and went back to cuddling together in bed.

"Do you wish to talk about today?" He asked me.

"I am still trying to process everything," I said, "I am willing to work with him, but I do not think I can forgive him just yet. I know he didn't know the things I did for him, but he could have still helped me without knowing what I did. Instead and let me defect and he didn't even defend me against the other sects. There are times where, as much as I love her, I was mad at my shijie too. I know she wasn't a cultivator and wasn't all that strong, but being married to Jin Zixuan, she could have sent me money at least or done something. She knew I was struggling and she let me down. I never wanted her to die for me either. This family let me down more than anything. The more I am with you and the more I sit and think about everything, I am learning the truth and accepting it. Is it wrong of me to think this way?"

"No," he said, "I do not forgive Jiang Wanyin for making you fall from that cliff. You survived but what if you didn't? He would have killed you. Now that we know you were framed, it is attempted murder. It would have been murder if he did kill you."

I sighed, "I am having to let everything go for now as I know A'Yuan is safe here for the time being. I would have preferred him with your Uncle...can't believe I am saying that," I said, "but with Jin Guangyao being around your brother a lot, I can't take risks."

"I know," Lan Zhan said, "and he wouldn't harm A'Yuan...Shufu I mean. I would have left A'Yuan with him too, but as you said, everything is unpredictable right now."

"We are just waiting on when that conference meeting is to be held," I said, "we are to be hidden...I was thinking about using my trick with animals somehow. Maybe be a fly on the wall or something."

He laughed, "we could give Shufu a paperman for you to use. You could hide in his sleeve."

"That could work too," I said, "but the longer I am a paperman, the more dangerous it can be. I would need to make sure we are close by so I can return safely."

"We will work things out. Let's just focus on the date first and then we can make plans," He said.

"Okay," I said and let out a soft sigh, "I love you so much."

"I love you too, Wei Ying," he said. He then rolled us over so he was on top of me, "now, you owe me."

"I what now?" I asked, "didn't we say after it all ends?"

"I am collecting early," he said, "I like the idea of everyday."

"Lan Zhan, you're going to break me if you actually do that," I said.

"We are immortal, so I think you will be fine," he said and began his attack.

I immediately couldn't argue with him on this. The moment he touches me like this, I am long gone into a trance. He has me at his mercy and honestly, I actually do not have any issues with it.
