This whole book is dedicated to my childhood cat

I looked down at the water that slapped against the side of the boat, it was a deep blue with a somewhat green tint, you could tell just by looking at how murky the water was that it was really deep.
I felt a bit light-headed and sea-sick but turned my eyes away from the water and joined the line to leave the ferry.
My new job was starting and I couldn't wait to get off the docks and onto good solid ground again. The crowd was pretty big, obviously all tourists, I think I was the only one coming here for a job.
I previously worked with wild, untrained horses and had grown up on a crocodile farm in Australia. Though I had never seen dinosaurs, I had seen on the news as a kid what happened to the first park and a few videos of them but never in person.
I got onto the ground and walked up to the pyramid sort of building ahead. I stood outside and texted the number of the person who had interviewed me.
I held the phone up to my ear and found where I had to go. They had sent someone to take me to the dorms where I could put my stuff and then go to the labs to discuss the arrangement of my new job.
Sounds like a good plan.
I found the lady I had supposedly been talking to, she had long brown hair and had a wary look in the eye.
"I'm Caliste," I told her, holding out a hand for her to shake it. She reluctantly took it.
"Vivian Krill," she said shortly and then pulled her hand back, wiping it on her side in a way that told me it was most likely a natural reflex but it still seemed a bit rude to me.
"Come with me," she then walked off down a path towards some other buildings.
I hurried after her, she was a surprisingly fast walker, and I had to speed walk to keep up with her boss-walk.
She showed me an elevator to the top floor and gave me a big spacious room that overlooked the main park. I put my stuff by my bed.
The room had cream coloured carpet and it was very soft and fuzzy, there was an open door leading to a forest themed bathroom and a kitchen across from it that looked smaller than what I was used to but it was a pretty good deal.
There were wardrobes and storage ports everywhere and I immediately went to check my phone battery to see if I could charge it. %56, I scurried around in my bag for a charger but paused when I heard Vivian clear her throat behind me and I looked up at her.
"We should go before we're late," she said simply and turned to leave.
I shoved my phone in my pocket, walking a lot faster now without all my luggage, and I got a bit more energy with excitement.
The labs seemed very pristine and clean, not a tile was chipped, the air smelt heavily of sanitising sprays and it seemed to be a very controlled environment. It was refreshing in a way.
The air was cool and not as humid as the air outside, Vivian made sure I put on a bodysuit, gloves and a mask so I didn't 'contaminate' anything.
I saw a lot of lab benches and some dinosaur organs, there was even a stegosaurus heart which was absolutely massive, a few eyeballs which were disgusting and trays with various tools on them.
Scientists scurried around looking for different things, noting things down. My excitement vanished, I felt more nervous, these people were serious about what they did, I was only here because I needed a job and money.
