I was sitting by the meat as my boys ate when a fancy white car pulled up, Kori noticed this and looked up momentarily before he continued eating. Both the boys had grown taller than my head now, it was humbling to be this close to them from my point of view.

I watched as Claire and 4 other people stepped out of the car. All dressed up pretty fancily.

Claire made hand motions for me to come over, I was secretly laughing at them for wearing expensive suits and nice white or light coloured dresses. I stood up regardless and made my way through the small gate to them.

"Caliste, I would like you to meet our sponsors, they want to meet the assets they will be naming," Claire gestured to the people behind her.

"Well, I wouldn't get in the paddock with them if that's what you mean," I say stiffly, I did not want them naming my boys. They had names, 'Kori' and 'Berilo' and it suited them.

"Goodness no," one of the ladies wearing a bright yellow dress and a business jacket laughed, flaunting her arms about. "We all know those are dangerous."

"Smart," I nod.

"May we see them?" a man in a black and white suit asks glancing over at the paddock where I'm pretty sure the boys were already finishing up eating.

I nod and gesture to the fence.

They all gathered around and watched, Claire explained to me their names, the man in the tuxedo was George, the lady in the yellow dress was Jessica, and the other two were Mia and Jasper.

I listened as they talked.

"Look at the black one," Jessica exclaimed as she pointed in awe.

"I prefer the green one with the white," Jasper chirped in, he was the youngest.

"You named the species, Jasper, you're disqualified from the individual naming," George stated sternly.

"If you need any name suggestions I'd be willing to offer," I pike in, my voice holding hope, I tried to match their tone and language.

"And who are you?" Mia looked at me coldly.

"I'm the person who raised these two," I gestured to my boys proudly.

"Well then you've done your part. It's time for us to do ours," George scowls at me. He obviously did not want me anywhere near his rexes and he probably already could tell I had named them.

"Excuse me," I frowned, anger rising into my voice. "I was there the day that they hatched and I have been with them everyday since." I noticed Claire cringing at my tone, she obviously cared about these peoples opinions.

Jessica gasped. "Oh... she thinks she has the authority to speak back to us?"

"Clearly she has no idea who she's talking to," Mia humphed.

"What? Are you something to be afraid of?" I snort at her, then add with a smirk. "The only thing to be scared of here is your face."

Everyone's jaws dropped, even Claires.

Then George burst out laughing and Jessica and Jasper followed suit, clutching their stomachs with laughter as Mia's face turned bright red with embarrassment.

I laughed too, the way the tension disappeared so quickly was refreshing.

"Where did the rexes go?" Mia gasped and pointed and suddenly everyone fell quiet. The scraps of their meal were there but they were gone.

"Maybe they escaped," Jasper said, his words hanging in the air making everyone feel a bit of dread. Everyone except me.

One thing I knew was that Kori may be smart but he can't climb or jump or figure out an electric fence that easily. Berilo wasn't hot headed to try again after a failed attempt. Plus, both of them were pretty content where they were.

"I'll go find them," I assure the rich-people and climb through the small gate.

I didn't think it was that weird since they had seen me in the paddock with the rexes just earlier but they still looked in awe and shock at what I was doing. It was kind of funny.

And it made me proud to know these creatures.

I suspected they were at the lake. I hadn't been there since I had seen the alligator but I couldn't turn back now so I took a deep breath and made my way to the lake.

Sure enough they were there, they were a lot more graceful in the water now, venturing into deeper waters and disappearing under for a few seconds. However, when they saw me they rushed out so fast if you blinked you could've missed it and began nuzzling and chittering at me as if to ask 'what happened?'.

"Sorry boys, we have to head back to the fence for a moment," I murmured, though they couldn't understand Kori seemed to recognise the words 'fence' and 'boys'.

He chittered as if he wasn't quite understanding and I just gave him a scratch under the chin which resulted in Berilo needing one too. I knew Berilo could be just as smart and observant as his brother but he simply was just not interested. He'd rather be big and strong and leader-like than smart and curious like his younger brother.

It was fair in my opinion. They both had their own things.

I placed a hand on Berilos shoulder and began walking forward until I had led them to the fence where the food was. All the richies were taking photos and chatting loudly. I could tell it was overwhelming Berilo a lot and Kori was already making a low rumbling growl sound.

I felt guilty for bringing them into this so I turned and led them away. Once they were at the lake, I gave both lots of pats and rubs and headed back to where the people were.

They were surprised when they saw me return with no dinosaurs in tow. "What happened?" Jessica asks.

"They aren't used to pictures and loud talking," I tell them, keeping my voice low and steady.

"They'll have to get used to it," Mia folds her arms across her chest.

"We should think of names for them," George told everyone else, for some reason they had formed a sort of circle like formation and I was in it. Hilarious that Claire was left out.

"The dark one should be named something like 'venom', it looks very scary," Mia said.

I shook my head but Jasper spoke, "okay, lets focus on the lighter coloured one then..."

"Guys, what if I told you I already named them?" I whisper, in a joking tone so if they didn't like it I could just say I was only joking.

They all looked at me, blinking in surprise and annoyance and shock.

"What have you named them?" Jasper asks almost kindly.

"Kori and Berilo," I say.

They burst out laughing and I knew how Mia had felt a while ago. I didn't feel guilt or regret though as she was laughing louder than all the others in a mean way.

I fiddled nervously.

"We'll come up with better names, you no longer need to accompany us," George told me.

I turned and left, holding back how indignant I felt until I was out of sight and I felt like a little teenage girl, throwing tantrums over people not liking her. So emotional and moody, what was going on with me today?
