Chapter 17

Now I just had to figure out how to open it, I walked up to the viewing point and saw someone, a chubby guy with a blue shirt and tie looking like someone from security monitoring the cameras.

"Oi, who are you?" he shouted indignantly with a mouthful of something.

"I'm the person who's going to shut down this place," I mumble and look into the enclosure. It was pretty small, if I was honest. I couldn't see the dinosaur so I doubted it was big.

"I- I can't permit you to be in here," I rolled my eyes and dug my elbow into his stomach with as much force as I could and he crumpled to the ground groaning.

I smirked and wasted no time in smashing his head against his desk so he fell unconscious. I looked at the board, there were a few buttons, a red button with a glass lid over it.

It said under it 'open gate'. That seemed like a good idea.

I tried to flick the lid open but it wouldn't so I looked around and beside it was a fingerprint thing.

I lifted the security person's hand up, it barely reached and his arm was heavy so I pulled hard so he was forced in his unconscious state to sit up. Then his finger was able to reach the thing and there was a beep and the lid flicked up.

I smirked and pressed the button with no hesitation.

The gate began opening, sliding to the side with excruciating slowness.

Suddenly, the trees creaked and moved as one of the biggest dinosaurs I've ever seen with white and light grey scales moved towards the opened gate.

It was a bit bigger than Berilo and Kori. There was a part of me that was chilled to the bone and another that felt proud I had achieved this.

The earth shook, much like it did when Berilo and Kori walked, I turned towards the entrance to the viewing place, the door was wide open. I felt fear set in me so I ran to it and closed.

My heart pounding in my chest. Unlike Berilo and Kori, this dinosaur didn't know me and was probably not too keen on humans by the way Claire described it.

I heard its footsteps receding.

Oh no... what have I done.

I know exactly what I've done... I've just thrown the worst temper tantrum in the world. I thought back to Berilo and Kori. Then at the man on the floor slowly regaining consciousness.

I hurry out and back into my ute and think.

I'd be safe in my boys' top security paddock. I'm not safe here. I thought of everything I needed to survive and the first thing that came to mind was 'saddle'.

I drove back home as fast as I could, hoping I didn't run into the giant white dinosaur I had seen and set free.

I got back to my apartment, no issues so far. I loaded swimmers, goggles, two first aid kits and a saddle into the back of my ute. Then a crate of water bottles and ate an unbuttered piece of toast on the way to the boys' paddock.

I got everything down the stairs and left the essentials back, putting on my swimmers and goggles and taking the saddle in.
