A week had passed soon and Berilo had become more accustomed to me getting the saddle, him laying down and me carefully taking the saddle on and off and then leaving it on until it was time for me to go.
That caused a problem since, because they were so smart Berilo and Kori had noticed when it was time for me to leave I would take the saddle off so they would either block my exit or keep me from taking the saddle off.
It was kind of annoying but it was acceptable since they weren't actually hurting me while they did this.
I bought some goggles at the visitors centre.
Today, I was going to face my fear. And since I was planning on going into the water I was way more prepared this time, I wore swimmers and I had brought goggles.
Berilo seemed excited when I brought out his saddle, Kori sniffed me cautiously, noticing I wasn't wearing my usual style.
I gave him a rub between the nostrils to let him know it's okay.
I saddled Berilo up and this time mounted onto his back. He stood up almost immediately before I could get properly in the saddle, so I was left holding onto the bar with my legs dangling over one-side.
"Bear!" I gasped in fear, I suddenly found myself almost 25 feet in the air.
I couldn't pull myself back up into the saddle where I knew I'd be safest, Kori noticed my struggling and held his head down by my feet. I placed my feet on his big snout and he pushed up so I could get settled in the saddle.
"Thanks, Kay," I smiled and gave him another rub. He purred happily at the attention.
Berilo seemed afraid to move this time and just stayed still. I had designed this saddle so I could just keep up with Berilo and Kori, not control them. I knew I was in the low ranks.
I gave Berilo a pat. "It's okay bear," I coo and he lets out a low rumbling purr that sends vibrations up from the saddle and into my body leaving me feeling tingly all over.
Most people have shaky plates for muscle therapy, but I have 2 giant carnivores for that.
I took my hands off the bar to pull my goggles on and get them fitted properly.
Kori had raised his head and was watching me as I did this. "It's me, Kay," I chirp, my voice muffled by the may my nose was covered by the goggles.
Kori let out a rumble of curiosity. His head tilted then he looked back up, his eyes seemed to widen though I knew they probably didn't. He realised why I was wearing all this. Smart boy.
Kori chittered at Berilo and Berilo swayed so I held on tighter as he turned around and went towards the water.
I held onto the bar with one hand and the other I placed against his scaly neck comforting him letting him know it was alright. Not that he needed to know. I knew he was nervous because I had ridden him twice before and each time it had ended with him feeling like he had done something wrong.
He waded into the water until my legs were submerged and his head was poking out and he stopped and just stood there.
I gave him another pat and leaned forward and he seemed to understand, Kori waded in beside us. It was crazy having two 9 ton carnivorous dinosaurs that would probably exceed me in smarts and have already exceeded me in strength.
Not to mention, Berilo was 60 feet long and Kori was 57 feet long, I estimated that but it seemed to fit as I don't think either of them would appreciate measuring tape well.
Kori disappeared underwater before Berilo went in after him.
I held on with my legs tightly and with the bar even tighter as my knuckles turned white.
