TEAGAN HAD BARELY stepped out of her trailer when she saw the luxury suv pull up. it gleamed under the california sun, the kind of car that practically screamed money - or more accurately, followers. it was the kind of vehicle you didn't even look at unless your social media account had at least a couple million subscribers, and from the shiny black rims to the immaculate chrome finish, it was clear: this car belonged to someone very famous.
and out stepped lauren.
lauren, effortlessly glamorous, her long hair bouncing in waves like it had its own personal wind machine. her makeup was flawless, skin glowing as if it had been touched up by some instagram filter that made her shimmer just enough to look otherworldly. she wore a skintight dress in a shade of peach that clung to every curve, a pair of designer sunglasses perched on her head like a crown. to top it off, that smile - bright and plastic, like it had been honed over years of trying to outshine everyone around her.
teagan almost groaned out loud. lauren had the kind of presence that just made you feel like shrinking, and she knew it.
"great," teagan muttered to herself as she adjusted her jacket and grabbed a coffee from a nearby table. "here comes the circus."
it wasn't like teagan hadn't expected this. she had known lauren would eventually come to set. it was just that she hadn't imagined it would happen today - right when they were supposed to film one of the more intense scenes between her and nicholas. and with lauren being the way she was, teagan knew this day would be long and exhausting.
as lauren made her way across the set, phone glued to her hand, teagan could already hear her high-pitched voice narrating the moment for her army of online followers.
"hey guys! guess where i am today?" lauren announced, loud enough for everyone within earshot to hear. she twirled her phone around, capturing a panoramic shot of the set, her millions of followers no doubt watching from behind their screens.
a couple of the crew members exchanged glances, clearly caught off guard. this was hollywood, sure, but even they weren't used to the sudden invasion of influencer energy. cameras were supposed to be pointed at the actors, not some youtuber doing a live update for her fans.
