AFTER TWO INTENSE MONTHS of filming and hardly a moment to herself, teagan felt a wave of relief as she unlocked her apartment door and stepped inside. the familiar warmth of her place - simple, modern, with big, open windows that overlooked the twinkling lights of the city - wrapped around her like a cozy blanket.
teagan couldn't help but take a deep breath, feeling the rare sensation of relaxation wash over her.
"ugh, finally! three days of zero drama and absolute peace." teagan said, sighing with a smile.
lena, who followed her into the apartment, grinned as she plops onto the couch. "yes, ma'am. just us, netflix, and a fridge full of whatever expired two months ago."
then, a soft, familiar meow came from the corner. teagan's heart melted instantly. "scarlett! oh, my baby!" she knelt down, scooping up her black cat as scarlett purred in contentment, nuzzling her face into teagan's shoulder. "i missed you so much, you little fluffball."
scarlett let out a deep, satisfied purr, nuzzling into teagan's hands.
lena laughed from the couch. "i swear, she looks like she's been planning her revenge for your absence. you're lucky she didn't redecorate in protest."
teagan playfully rolled her eyes. "don't even give her ideas."
after giving scarlett her long-awaited dinner and fresh water, teagan looked over to see lena already in her element, legs tucked beneath her as she scrolled through the tv options.
"you're staying the night, aren't you?" teagan grinned, hands on her hips.
"oh, absolutely. i already claimed the couch. it's non-negotiable." lena said, without looking up.
they both laughed as teagan joined her, curling up on the other side of the couch. as they debated what to watch and what to eat, scarlett decided to join them, settling on teagan's lap like a little queen, fully aware she was the main character in this scenario.
half an hour later, teagan and lena had plates of steaming pasta balanced on their laps as they finally found a cozy rom-com to settle on. between bites, they exchanged commentary on the movie's predictably dramatic plot twists, each joke and snarky remark adding to their laughter.
