THE ENERGY ON SET was electric. the setting sun cast a golden light over the trailers, a perfect prelude to the evening's filming - a pivotal scene that had been buzzing in teagan's mind all week: the very first on-screen kiss between josh and harper. or, in other words, her very first kiss with nicholas. she'd been telling herself it was just another scene, yet her nerves hummed in a way she couldn't ignore.
a few days had passed since their cozy night in nicholas's trailer, but her mind kept replaying the comforting warmth of his hug, the way he'd looked at her as they shared takeout. they'd grown closer, and it showed in everything from their texts to their laughs on set, even as the awkward tension between him and his girlfriend lauren lingered in the background.
inside her trailer, teagan stared at herself in the mirror, adjusting her makeup and inhaling deep breaths as her stomach somersaulted. a facetime call with lena was in order.
the phone rang twice before lena's face appeared, grinning widely.
"alright, spill. what's got you this worked up? you're practically vibrating through the screen."
"you're too observant, you know that? and what happened to a supportive best friend?" teagan laughed nervously. "it's... tonight's filming. they have me and nicholas doing the big first kiss for josh and harper."
lena's eyes widened, and her mouth twisted into a devilish grin.
"oh, this is big. your first kiss with mr. hollywood heartthrob himself. are you freaking out?"
"understatement. i haven't been able to think about anything else all day." teagan paused, blushing. "but it's just acting right?"
"pfft, yeah, sure. 'just acting.' tell that to the millions of fans who are going to dissect every millisecond of that kiss. t, you're kissing nicholas chavez. you got this."
"okay, fine, maybe it's a big deal. but i'm just nervous i'll... mess it up, or something."
