Chapter Two: The Decision

The morning light filtered through the curtains of their new apartment, casting a soft glow across the room. Jenna stirred, her eyes slowly opening as she blinked at the unfamiliar surroundings. It still felt strange, waking up in this new place—her place, their place. For a moment, she lay there, relishing the peaceful silence. The chaos of filming and constant work had faded into the background, leaving only the stillness of their shared space.

But even in the quiet, thoughts of the future buzzed in her mind. The phone call she had received about *Scream* lingered like an unanswered question, and no matter how much she tried to push it aside, it always crept back.

Beside her, Y/N was still sound asleep, his arm draped casually across her waist. Jenna smiled to herself, brushing a few strands of hair from his face. He looked peaceful, and she didn't want to wake him—especially since they had spent half the night talking about the possibilities ahead. After all, it wasn't every day that you were offered a role in a major franchise like *Scream.*

Slowly, she slipped out of bed and padded quietly into the kitchen. The apartment was still mostly bare, but they had managed to unpack the essentials. As she stood by the counter, waiting for the coffee to brew, her thoughts wandered back to the conversation from the previous night.

Y/N had been so supportive, as always. He made everything seem easy, like they could handle anything thrown their way. And maybe they could. But that didn't erase Jenna's hesitation. The idea of jumping into another massive project so soon after *Wednesday* felt overwhelming. She had barely caught her breath, and here was this opportunity, dangling in front of her like a shiny, irresistible object.

The sound of footsteps behind her pulled her from her thoughts. She turned to see Y/N, his hair tousled, wearing a sleepy smile as he joined her in the kitchen.

"Morning," he mumbled, wrapping his arms around her from behind and resting his chin on her shoulder.

"Morning," she replied, leaning back into him. "Sleep well?"

"Always do when you're around," he said softly, planting a kiss on her temple. "What about you? You're up early."

Jenna shrugged. "Couldn't stop thinking."

Y/N pulled back slightly, turning her to face him. "About *Scream*?"

She nodded, biting her lip. "I just... I don't know if I'm ready to jump into something else right now. But it's such a huge opportunity."

Y/N gave her a reassuring smile, brushing his hand across her cheek. "I get it. But like I said last night, we don't have to rush into anything. If you're not ready, that's okay. No one's going to force you to take the role."

"I know, but..." Jenna hesitated, searching for the right words. "It's just, this is big. For both of us. We could work together again. And it's *Scream*. Part of me feels like I'd regret turning it down."

"Do you want to do it?" Y/N asked, his voice gentle but direct.

Jenna sighed, her gaze falling to the floor. "I don't know. I think I do, but at the same time... I'm scared that we'll get caught up in the craziness again, and we won't have time for us."

Y/N nodded thoughtfully. "That's fair. It's a lot to consider. But we've always managed to find our way through the chaos before. And this time, we know what we're getting into."

She looked up at him, the uncertainty in her eyes slowly giving way to something else—something more hopeful. "Do you really think we can do this? I mean, juggle everything without losing ourselves in the process?"

Y/N smiled, his hand finding hers. "I do. Because we're a team. And whatever happens, we'll figure it out together. We've already been through so much."

Jenna studied him for a moment, her heart swelling with gratitude. He had this way of making everything seem possible. Of course, there would be challenges, but they were stronger now. Maybe this was just the next step in their journey.

She took a deep breath, feeling a sense of calm wash over her. "Okay. Let's do it."

Y/N's smile widened, and he pulled her into a tight hug. "We're going to kill it."

Jenna laughed softly against his chest. "I hope so."

They stayed like that for a while, wrapped in each other's arms, letting the weight of the decision settle between them. It felt right. Maybe they weren't ready for everything that would come with another big project, but they would take it one day at a time. Together.

Later that afternoon, after calling their agents and confirming their roles, Jenna found herself on the balcony again, staring out at the city. The day had turned warm, the breeze carrying the scent of spring. She leaned against the railing, feeling a mixture of excitement and apprehension swirl inside her. This was happening. They were going to be in *Scream.*

Y/N joined her after a while, slipping his hand into hers as they stood side by side.

"So," he said, glancing at her with a teasing grin. "Ready to get chased by a killer in a mask?"

Jenna snorted, rolling her eyes. "I don't know if *ready* is the word I'd use."

Y/N chuckled. "We'll survive. It's just a movie, after all."

"Easy for you to say," she shot back. "You're not the one who usually ends up running from the killer."

"Hey, you're the scream queen here," he said, giving her a playful nudge. "I'm just along for the ride."

Jenna smirked, feeling a spark of excitement light up inside her. Despite her earlier doubts, the idea of working together again, of diving into the world of *Scream,* was starting to feel more thrilling than overwhelming. They had faced so much already—what was one more adventure?

As they stood there, looking out at the city that had become their home, Jenna realized that no matter what happened next, they would face it head-on. Because they weren't just two actors caught up in the chaos of Hollywood—they were partners, in every sense of the word.
