AUTHOR'S NOTE

37 4 1

The next chapter is heavy, especially the beginning, and I really struggled to write it.

The whole 'the characters come to life, and have their own opinions and thoughts' situation that authors often speak of is true; throughout this process, these characters have gained their own thoughts, opinions, ideas, and voices...especially Réa and Bucky.

Bucky has been my comfort character since I first read a comic with him in it; the MCU further solidified his comfort character position. As such, I really, really did NOT want to write a large portion the next chapter...at least not how he insisted it be written.

I got physically ill four times while writing said portion.

I cried so much that I had no more tears left and my eyes felt like they were wrapped in sandpaper.

I had no idea what several of the things he mentioned even are; I had to do a private Google search to fact-check, and then I cried some more.

Unfortunately, like Réa's experiences (which are mine), Bucky's are a reality for too many (while maybe not to the same extent, although I know first-hand how vile and depraved people—I use that term loosely—can be).

If you or someone you know needs help, there are resources available.

Please remember that, no matter what anyone else tells you, I believe you.

Regardless of your biological sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, race, religion, creed, political stance, belief system, relationship status, choice of attire, or anything else,
you did not deserve what happened to you, and it was not your fault.

I want you to know that you are important, you are loved, you are seen, you are valued, and you are worthy. And I want you to remember that there is only one you, and the world needs you.
