1 Month Later,
It was Tessa's first day of her senior year. She rambled for an hour about her first day but she got the feeling Bucky wasn't in the mood to hear about highschool life.
"Are you mad at me Bucky? Do you want to not talk to me anymore?" She said
"No darlin I'm sorry it's just been a bad day." He said as he played with the string on his sweat pants.
"Do you want to talk about it? I'm great listener." She said
He forced a small smile, "There's not much to say Tess..I have bad news." He said
"Bad news?" She said
"I'm being deployed in October.." he said
Tessa froze for minute before finally saying "Oh.."
"Yeah, I had a bunch of meetings today..and training." He said
Tessa looked down, "Darlin don't be sad ok..please don't cry." He said
She swallowed the lump in her throat. They tried to turn the conversation around but there was no denying that the news put a damper on the conversation.
After they talked for another hour, Bucky called his parents to give them the news as well.
