Mingi groaned as he stretched lazily on Yunho's couch, scrolling aimlessly on his phone. "So, when are we going Halloween shopping?" he asked, throwing a glance at Yunho, who was pouring coffee in the kitchen.
Yunho rolled his eyes, setting the mug down with a thud. "You're the one who wanted to go. Why are you acting like this is my idea?"
Mingi smirked. "Because you love dragging me around stores and pretending to hate it."
Yunho just gave him a blank stare. "Yeah. Sure. Let's pretend that's exactly what's happening."
Twenty minutes later, after bribing Mingi with coffee, they were finally out the door, umbrellas in hand, ready to face the October drizzle.

As Mingi and Yunho wandered through the colorful aisles of the costume store, a palpable excitement filled the air. Mingi, his eyes sparkling with mischief, turned to Yunho. "You know, we should totally surprise each other with our costumes for Halloween. Let's keep it a secret until the big day!"
Yunho raised an eyebrow, intrigued yet slightly wary. "You sure? What if you end up wearing something ridiculous?"
Mingi laughed, his confidence unshakeable. "That's part of the fun! If we find something really good, we can drop hints, but no peeking. Deal?"
"Deal," Yunho agreed, a competitive gleam in his eye. "But just know, I'm going all out this year. You won't see it coming!"
With their plan set, they dove back into the vast selection of costumes. Mingi flipped through racks adorned with everything from superhero capes to whimsical fairy wings, each costume sparking new ideas in his mind. He couldn't resist trying on a sparkly wizard hat and striking a dramatic pose in front of the mirror, while Yunho chuckled, shaking his head.
"Okay, you look ridiculous as a wizard." Yunho teased. "But definitely a wizard worth getting spellbound by."
"Only the best kind of spell. That's how I lured you into my trap." Mingi shot back with a wink, enjoying the playful banter, which only made Yunho smirk.
After a while, they decided to take a break from the costumes and ventured into the candy aisle, where the vibrant colors of Halloween treats filled the shelves. Mingi's eyes widened in delight as he spotted the candy corn. "We need these! Halloween isn't complete without candy corns."
"Sure, but I want Skittles. I love that stuff." Yunho added, already reaching for a few bags.
"Okay then!" Mingi replied, practically bouncing on his toes. They began tossing various bags into their cart, laughing and joking about how they were going to be the ultimate Halloween party hosts.
"Look at this!" Mingi exclaimed, holding up a bag of gummy worms.
"We could just eat them all ourselves," Yunho replied with a smirk, imagining the sugar rush that awaited them. "We could hide them and pretend they're for the trick-or-treaters."
Mingi giggled at the thought. "Just promise me we won't eat everything before Halloween! I want some candy left for when we dress up. This is the last Halloween you'll see me all prepped."
After a good laugh, they continued filling their cart with an assortment of candies. With each selection, Mingi felt the anticipation of Halloween building, a fresh excitement that came from knowing they were sharing this experience for the first time.
Once they reached the checkout, their cart was overflowing with candy, a colorful assortment that would delight both them and any trick-or-treaters who dared to stop by. As they paid, Mingi felt a warm glow of happiness—this year was shaping up to be something special.
Stepping outside into the crisp autumn air, Mingi turned to Yunho, his enthusiasm bubbling over. "Just wait until you see my costume! I promise it'll be worth the surprise."
"Same goes for you," Yunho shot back, a confident smile on his face.
As they walked home, they began brainstorming plans for their Halloween festivities. They tossed around ideas for decorating their space, carving pumpkins, and even creating spooky snacks. Each suggestion brought more laughter and excitement, the atmosphere electric with the thrill of what was to come.
By the time they arrived at Yunho's place, their arms full of candy and anticipation, they knew this Halloween was going to be unforgettable.
