Peter couldn't shake the smug grin that had settled on his face as he glanced out the window of Avengers Tower. Flash had been uncharacteristically quiet since they arrived, but Peter knew exactly what was running through his mind—everyone was. This was his world, and they were just guests in it. Flash had always doubted him, questioned his capabilities, mocked him for being the 'loser' of Midtown. But now, standing in the heart of Avengers Tower, Peter Parker knew there was no hiding from the truth. He belonged here, not just as Spider-Man, but as the brother of Morgan Stark and an Avenger in his own right.
Morgan, his twin sister, had taken on her usual role of tour guide, eagerly leading Peter's classmates around, tossing out trivia about the Tower and their dad, Tony Stark. Their fellow students gawked at the high-tech surroundings, but none more than Flash, whose jaw had dropped the moment they stepped off the elevator.
“I bet Flash thought the Tower was all for show,” Peter mused under his breath.
“Let him think whatever he wants,” Morgan whispered back, elbowing him playfully. “You know he’s jealous.”
Peter snickered, but the warm moment between the twins was interrupted by a sudden, eerie silence that washed over the entire Tower. F.R.I.D.A.Y.'s voice echoed softly in their ears, alerting them to a situation.
“Mr. Stark, we have a breach in the perimeter.”
Peter’s senses went haywire. He shot a look at Morgan, who was already bracing herself, her expression shifting from playful to serious in an instant. Something wasn’t right.
Before anyone could react, the lights flickered, and an alarm blared throughout the building. F.R.I.D.A.Y. came back on, this time louder and more urgent.
“Attention: All Avengers, we have a situation. The Tower is on full lockdown. A hostile force has infiltrated the area. No one is to leave the premises.”
Peter’s classmates were thrown into a panic, their field trip suddenly taking a terrifying turn. Flash looked around wildly, while MJ stepped closer to Peter, her face a mix of concern and curiosity.
Peter and Morgan exchanged a knowing glance. This was more than just a lockdown drill. Something dangerous was happening, and they needed to act fast.
Just as Peter began strategizing, a loud crash echoed from one of the upper floors. It was followed by a thunderous roar that reverberated through the entire Tower. The building shook violently as monstrous sounds filled the air. His classmates screamed, huddling together, unsure of what to do.
Monsters. They were under attack.
Peter instinctively reached for his suit, but Morgan stopped him.
"Peter, you can’t just reveal yourself in front of them," she hissed, glancing at their classmates, who were all distracted by the chaos. "Not yet."
"Yeah, I know," he muttered back, his heart racing.
At that moment, the elevator doors opened, revealing Wanda and Pietro Maximoff, their faces etched with grim determination.
“Peter, Morgan,” Wanda called out as she strode toward them, her scarlet energy already crackling in her palms. “You two need to get out of here—now.”
“We can help,” Peter protested, but Pietro was already by his side, gripping his shoulder tightly.
“This isn’t the time for arguments,” Pietro said, his tone serious. “The monsters are multiplying fast. The Avengers are handling it, but we need to make sure the civilians—your friends—are safe.”
Morgan, ever the Stark, was already in action, running toward F.R.I.D.A.Y.’s main control panel. “We need to secure the lower floors. F.R.I.D.A.Y., lock down the main lobby and make sure the kids can’t leave.”
“Understood, Miss Stark,” F.R.I.D.A.Y. responded immediately.
Peter’s classmates, terrified and unsure, huddled closer together as Wanda raised her hand, casting a protective barrier around them. “Stay here. No one moves unless we say so.”
Peter felt torn. His instincts screamed at him to suit up, to join the fight, but the sight of his classmates—particularly MJ—standing so vulnerable in the middle of Avengers Tower weighed heavy on him.
“Stay with them,” Wanda added softly to Peter, her eyes filled with understanding. “If anything happens, you’ll need to protect them.”
Peter nodded, though frustration brewed beneath his calm exterior. He hated feeling helpless, but deep down, he knew Wanda was right. His classmates needed him just as much as the Avengers needed him to stay undercover—for now.
Morgan, having secured the Tower’s controls, turned to her brother. “We need to stay here, Pete. But don’t worry… when the time comes, we’ll know what to do.”
Just as Morgan spoke, another deafening roar erupted from above, and the Tower shook again. Peter’s spider-sense flared, and he knew the fight was only just beginning.
And though the Avengers were out there facing the threat, Peter couldn't shake the feeling that soon, it would be his turn to step into action. After all, this was his world now—monsters or not.
With his twin sister by his side, he would face whatever came next. Together.
