The following morning brought a gentle sunlight streaming through the windows of the Stark Tower, illuminating the cozy space where the Avengers had gathered for breakfast. Peter, feeling surprisingly well-rested after the previous night’s movie marathon, poured himself a bowl of cereal while MJ entered the kitchen, her hair still tousled from sleep.
“Morning, sleepyhead,” he said with a grin, nudging her playfully.
“Morning,” she replied, stifling a yawn as she reached for a cup of coffee. “How did you sleep?”
“Pretty good, actually. You?”
“Better than I expected,” she admitted, smiling back at him. “It’s nice to be back here with everyone.”
As they settled into their seats, Natasha sauntered into the kitchen, her trademark smirk in place. “Well, well, if it isn’t the newlyweds,” she teased, pouring herself a cup of coffee.
Peter felt his cheeks heat up. “We’re not that newlywed, are we?”
“Technically, yes. But I still want to know how your married life is going,” Natasha said, leaning against the counter with an expectant look.
MJ chuckled, shooting Peter a playful glance. “Oh, it’s been great! A lot of adjusting, but we’re figuring it out.”
Natasha raised an eyebrow, intrigued. “Adjusting how? I mean, you’re both superheroes and saving the world on the side.”
“It’s more about the little things,” Peter explained, feeling a bit sheepish. “Like remembering to share the last slice of pizza or deciding who gets to pick the movie for movie night.”
“Ah, the eternal battle over pizza and popcorn,” Natasha teased. “Very serious matters. But in all honesty, how’s the balance between being heroes and a couple?”
MJ nodded thoughtfully. “It’s different, but in a good way. We support each other, and it helps knowing we both understand the pressure of our responsibilities.”
“I think you two make a great team,” Natasha replied, her tone sincere. “Just like you do with the rest of us. Speaking of which, how did everyone at college react to the news of your marriage?”
Peter scratched the back of his neck, remembering the whirlwind that had followed Tony’s Twitter announcement. “Well, it was… intense,” he admitted. “One minute, I’m just Peter Parker, and the next, I’m married to MJ, and Tony Stark is tweeting about it.”
Natasha chuckled, crossing her arms. “I can only imagine the chaos.”
“Yeah, the response was wild. Some people were super supportive, like, ‘Congrats!’ and all that. But there were also those who couldn’t believe it,” Peter continued, recalling the onslaught of notifications on his phone that day.
“Didn’t Tony’s tweet break the internet?” MJ asked, giggling at the memory.
“Pretty much! He said something like, ‘So proud of my son and his incredible wife, MJ! Can’t wait to see what they do together.’ The comments were flooded with reactions—some people were really happy, but there were also a ton of memes and jokes,” Peter explained, shaking his head.
“Memes? I need to see those!” Natasha exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Can you show me?”
“Sure! Let me pull them up,” Peter said, pulling out his phone and scrolling through his social media feed.
As he shared a few of the funniest memes and comments with MJ and Natasha, they all burst into laughter. The absurdity of some of the posts—like photoshopped images of them as superhero royalty—made the room feel lighter.
