Life teaching at Hogwarts had been going good, I was into my second year teaching and I was highly admired amongst both staff and students. I had been working extra this year due to the Triwizard Tournament. The castle was crawling with students now that there was Beaubaxtons and Drumstrang students here. Harry Potter no longer doubted me, he came to me for help, as did Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. In fact, it seemed like everyone had accepted me, I was no longer a newcomer, I was a friend to them all. A friend to everyone but my friends.
The wolf pack. My friends from La Push. I hadn't seen them since Christmas, and it is now September. It's not like I planned to never see them or hardly ever speak to them, it's just how it worked out.
"Madam Hale?" Spoke Draco Malfoy, leaning against the door to the hospital wing.
Breaking my chain of thought I turned to look at him. "Draco? Is someone hurt?"
"No, there is someone here to see you." He replied, causing me to stand up and straighten out my uniform.
"Who is it?"
He never replied but stepped aside to let someone past before waving and swaggering away.
I looked at my visitor, sizing him up before breaking into a smile and giving him a hug. "I've missed you Jared!" I yelled into his ear.
"You too Kitty!" He laughed.
"So what brought you across the world?" I asked, sitting back down.
"What makes you think there's a specific cause?" He asked, sitting next to me.
"Pretty expensive social visit."
"True, I'm here for a reason."
"Which is...?" I urged.
"Jake's sister, Rachael came home."
"That's good, how is she?"
"Just dandy. She met the rest of the wolves, we weren't going to tell her about us, but she had to be told."
"Why did she have to be?"
"She was imprinted on."
My heart swelled at the idea of another imprint. They were always the cutest couples ever! "Who was it?" I asked eagerly.
Jared looked at me briefly before looking away. "Paul." He whispered, just loud enough for my supernatural hearing to catch.
The smile was wiped off my face and the idea of another happy couple fell apart. "Are they..?"
"Yes, they're dating. Paul wasn't going to tell you until you came home. I disagreed, thought you deserved to know." He told me.
I didn't say anything, but nodded. I thanked Jared for coming to tell me but told him I had to get to work. I'm pretty sure if I had a heart, it would of just been broken. I was gutted. Paul was a great guy and some chick comes along and it's like I never existed.
I never properly had time to grieve out relationship as I was called to duty once more.
"Everything okay Kat?" Madam Rosmerta asked me as she passed me another drink.
"Never been better." I muttered.
"You may be the master at hiding any expression, but you're a female, you still drown your sorrows." She told me, with a slight smirk.
"I am not drowning my sorrows!" I snapped.
She just narrowed her eyes at me.
"My boyfriend, back in America, has another girlfriend. Wasn't planning on telling me until I went home." I told her, downing my drink.
"Well that sucks." She sympathised.
I nodded, paid for my drinks before heading back to the castle.
As I was walking back, I saw someone, he looked out of place, was on his own, looked completely lost.
"Can I help you, sir?" I asked him sa I got closer.
"I took the wrong turning, I have no idea where I am." He told me, still looking around him.
"This is Hogsmeade." I told him, trying to be helpful.
He turned to look at me and the shock on his face was as clear as day. While he stared at me wordlessly, I was admiring the beauty of his face. He was so handsome, in the classic version. He had a pale complexion and your box standard European forehead. His green eyes were so captivating, I felt as if he was reading into my soul, his nose was perfectly straight and his mouth was, well perfect. His brown hair was spiked in a way that made butter melt. As I took in his entire physique, I couldn't help but notice how muscular and athletic it was. His stomach was so flat and lean, I could make out his abs! He was by far the most fashionable male I had seen in Britain, which made me think he wasn't really a wizard. I dragged my eyes back to his face, which was still in complete shock, and I couldn't help but notice that he was only a couple of inches taller than me at the most, the perfect kissing height.
"Katherine?" He muttered in astonishment.
"Nope, sorry." I muttered.
"What are you doing here?" He asked me.
"I work here..." I trailed.
"You? Work?" He laughed.
"Yeah, who are you?" I demanded to know, a little offended.
"You're really not Katherine?" He asked.
"No, I'm Katrina." I introduced myself, sticking out my hand.
"Katrina?" He stammered
"Yeah.. Come on with me, we can go get a seat, and then I'll see if I can help you out of here." I told him, walking over to one of the cafes.
We sat down at one of the corner tables. He watched me as I took off my jacket. I got some looks from those who were in the cafe. I looked like I was on a date, with a bloody prince!
"So you're name is Katrina?" He asked me.
"Katrina Hale." I told him as the waitress came over.
"We'll have two coffees." He told her.
"He means butterbeers." I explained with a smile when she looked at me confused.
"I'm Stefan Salvatore." He told me, with a smile. I faltered at his perfectly straight white teeth.
"Italian?" I asked him.
"Descent." He smiled.
The waitress came over with our butterbeers the and Stefan looked at me, confusion written all over his face. "Coffee?" He asked.
"We don't get coffee. You'll like this though." I assured him, having a drink of my own.
He took a sip and smiled again. "It is good."
"So, you going to tell me how you ended up here?" I asked him.
"I was doing research for a project, that's why I'm over here, and I was in a bar and followed these people here, but now I can't get out." He moaned with slight laughter.
"You're not from around here then?" I teased.
"America, Mystic Falls." He told me.
"I know the place." I smiled. "So why were you so convinced I was this Katherine?" I asked in curiosity.
"You look exactly like her." he explained. "I'm sorry about it."
"It's fine." I laughed. "So how long are you staying here?"
"I leave tomorrow. But if you're ever in America, you should come visit." He offered.
"I'd like that." I replied.
We finished our drinks and I paid for them before I showed him in the right direction to go. I waited until he was safely out of the Wizarding world before I headed back to the castle once more.
