Chapter Twenty: Bonnie.

I was in town, having a wander as I tried to fammiliarise myself with the little town of Mystic Falls when I saw her.

The mass of curls from the bar. I quickly ducked out of sight but it was too late.

"Elena!"

I reappeared with a false smile plastered on my face. She never hugged me again, thankfully.

"Hey, is Katherine back in town?" She asked me quietly.

"Katherine, I haven't seen her.." I trailed in my best Elena accent.

"It's just I thought I saw her last night, but it wasn't a Katherine vibe." Bonnie explained.

"A Katherine vibe?" I asked her.

"You know, when I touch Vampires? A witch thing.." She shot me a suspicious look.

"Oh right, of course!" I laughed.

She laughed with me for a moment before continuing. "Is Jeremy still at the house, we're meant to be going for lunch?" She asked finally.

"I think he's left, don't take my word for it though." I laughed nervously before saying goodbye.

I was walking back to Mrs Winkle's house when I saw them. Stefan and Damon.

They were just down the street, standing side by side. One was slightly taller, his black clothes emitting a sexy bad boy vibe. The other a couple inches shorter, his grey shirt and jeans showing how athletic he was.

They has their arms crossed, biceps bulging. They were staring at me, becknoning me to go to them.

"Why hello boys." I drawled as I stood in front of them.

"Come with us." Stefan ordered, already turning to walk away, towards a nice blue ferrari.

"I'm into many things, but a threesome with brothers isn't one of them." I smirked.

Damon rolled his eyes, but looking as if he was trying to hide a smile.

"No threesome." Stefan muttered, turning back around.

"Why, do you prefer your girls human? Because that's one of the few differences between myself and your beloved." I teased, waggling my eyebrows.

"That's what we need to discuss. You and Elena." Damon explained.

"And you couldn't have said that earlier." I suggested.

"Just get in the car." Damon shouted over his shoulder, already getting into the driver seat.

"Fine." I muttered. "I call shotgun!" I shouted as an afterthought.

Damon shot Stefan a dark look and I saw Stefan roll his eyes before slipping into the back seat. Smiling in triumph, I slid into the passenger seat and turned the radio on.

After we had been driving for a few minutes I turned to Damon, hesitating before actually bringing myself to speak as I admired him.

"So what's the deal with this witch chick?" I finally asked.

"You've met Bonnie?" Stefan asked, an unreadable tone to his voice as he sat forward.

"Very powerful witch from a very powerful line. Bonnie Bennet." Damon replied, ignoring Stefan.

"Don't witches have wands and pointy hats?" I asked in return, being careful to add a tease to my voice.

Stefan snorted to himself and sat back again and I caught Damon with a smile on his face. "Yeah sure, in your fairy tales." He snickered.

"She knows I'm not human ." I stated.

"When she touched you when we were at the Grill, she sensed you were not human." Damon told me.

"She sensed me?"

"When Bonnie touches Vampires, she gets this feeling. It's how she knows what they are." Stefan replied.

"And what about Katherine?"

"Bonnie has come acustomed to Katherine's vibe, it is different from the others after all." Damon answered.

"Different how?"

"Katherine was the Petrova doppleganger, doppleganger blood is different." Stefan replied.

"So Bonnie thought I was Katherine, but I gave off a different vibe and now she suspects I'm not Katherine?"

"Exactly." The brothers said together.

"But if you want to go out in public, you'll need to change your hair." Damon added as an afterthought.

"My hair?"

"Then we can say you're a cousin of Elena and Jeremy's." Stefan explainesd.

"Elena's brother?"

"Cousin, technically, but yes Jermey is her brother." Damon told me.

Clearly one of them was adopted, and if I wanted to stay here I was going to have to do as they say. I concentrated on changing my appearence, my hair and eyebrows. I knew it had worked when I heard Stefan's sharp intake of breath.

"Katrina, how the hell...?!" He shouted, causing Damon to swerve the car and curse at Stefan.

Then Damon took notice of the source of Stefan's outburst, "How did you do that?!"

I couldn't help but laugh. "Never judge by the fangs." I teased.

Damon went back to driving amd Stefan still stared while I looked at my reflection.

I had flaming red hair which was sitting in loose waves, I even had eyebrows to match. Even though I still looked like me, I looked simmilar to Elena. Easily passable as a cousin.

*Bonnie's POV*

I couldn't help but let my mind wander as Jeremy went to the toilet. The girl, identical to Elena but definetley not Katherine, kept flashing before me. Who was she? Another doppelgänger? And if so, how had she bypassed Klaus?

"Bonnie? Earth to witch?" Jeremy teased as he flashed his hand in front of me.

"Sorry, I was thinking." I replied. How had I not even notice him sit back down?

"About what, Emily?" He asked, in a lower tone than before.

I shook my head. "Is Katherine back in town?"

"Don't think so, why have you seen her?"

"I'm not sure, she didn't feel like Katherine."

"Are you sure it wasn't Elena?"

"No. This person was dark. Everything about her was just off."

"We can ask the others later."

Yeah, like that would do any use. Supernatural creatures don't just pass through Mystic Falls. They either live here, leave here or die trying.

Once I was back at my Grams, I knew what I had to do. And my Grams had all the answers.

"Grams?"

"Bonnie, darling. Is everything okay?"

"Actually, I want to ask you something."

"Anything." She replied, raising her eyebrows slightly.

"You know how we can sense supernatural creatures?"

"Yes, and how they each have a particular vibe."

"Is there any really similar to the vampire vibe?"

"Each one is unique."

"It's just, there's someone, I thought she was Katherine, but it was slightly different."

My Grams didn't reply, she froze. All of a sudden she got up, began pacing and muttering to herself.

"It can't be. It can't be. It can't be. It can't be."
