*Paul Lahote's POV*

"Come on Paul! There's not going to be any grub left!" Moaned Embry as we locked up my house and started to discuss the pack meeting.

"Embry! Paul!" Shouted a voice. A voice I knew only to well. Jake's pet. Bella. I noticed Embry's quiet moan that made me chuckle quietly before he bounded over to her.

"Bella!" I heard Embry's phony enthusiastic voice call out.

"This is Katrina, Charlie invited her." I heard her say. Who on earth was Katrina?

I turned around and saw Embry next to Bella, who was next to a brunette.

"Hi." She smiled at me, before glancing another smile at Embry.

This girl was breath-taking beautiful. She had chocolate hair that fell into lose waves just below her shoulders, her almond-shaped brown eyes scanned over me, I thought I saw a tint of interest cross them but who know's? Her 5"6 frame looked up at my 6" frame. Her jeans and her shirt hugged her slender athletic body. The corner of her mouth tugged a little, before opening into a smile. Her pale pink lips opened wider to reveal her white teeth in perfect straight rows. I smiled my goofy smile at her and I noticed her pale cheeks flush.

"Bella, I'll race you?" Suggested Embry.

"You're to fast for me though." Complained Bella. Complaining, what she always does.

"You can get a head start." Bella sighed and took off. I found myself laughing as Embry quickly overtook her. Then reality hit. I was standing a few feet away from the most beautiful girl I had ever seen.

"So you're Katrina?" I muttered sounding overly stupid.

"Yeah, and you're Paul?" She asked back, her voice was so velvety.

"Yeah, so you comin' or not?"

"Sure."

I turned on my heels and stalked off in the way of the meeting, I strained my hearing to see if she was following. She was. Taking a breath I smelt something unusual. It was sweet but it was mixed in with something.. ash.

"So where are we going exactly?" I heard her voice say. I turned round, expecting to see her a fair bit behind me but ended up becoming nose to nose with her.

"A meeting." I replied quietly.

"What type of meeting?" She quizzed me, not stepping back.

"You will find out, won't you?" I replied, not stepping back either.

"I'm not a fan of surprises."

"That makes two of us." Once the words were out of my mouth, I regretted them. Her eyes flickered, they were almost daring.

"Well, I will just have to change your mind, won't I?" As she spoke, she was getting closer and closer then she was just breathing, her hot breath was entering my mouth, warming up my insides.

"It's harder than it looks." I warned her.

"I always get what I want." She laughed, stepping backwards. She flashed me an award winning smile.

"Shouldn't we get going?" She asked as she walked up to my side.

"Yes."

As we walked, she told me how she had just moved here, how she was Charlie's assistant at the station and how she was my neighbour. It took us all of five minutes to get to the usual meeting place. When we approached everyone became silent and stared at us. Then came Jake, he left Bella's side, leaving her looking lost and bounded over.
