I was fully fed. It felt good to have my own food inside me not theirs. It was disgusting, it truly was. I was sitting in my house, just reading a book from when I was at school, a lifetime ago. I had nothing to do, I really needed some friends who weren't busy all the time.
"Katrina?" Shouted a voice from downstairs, scaring the crap out of me. How could I not have heard him. Speaking of which, who was it? I silently made my way towards the stairs. I could hear breathing down by the front door, and as I breathed in, I could smell the scent that was surrounding La Push and was 10 times more stronger when I was at the weird type of meeting the other night.
"Are you here?" He asked again. Paul! That was his name, Paul.
Paul, how did you get in?" I quizzed him, standing with a hand on my hip and narrowing my eyes at him.
"Uhh, the door was open.." He stammered as he shifted his gaze from mine.
"Haha, I'll let you off then!" I laughed as I ran at human speed down to the foot of the stairs.
"I thought you were mad?" He asked, clearly confused.
"Nah, but what are you doing here?" I asked him now, in all seriousness.
"I came to ask if you want to go for a picnic?" He looked sheepishly up at me as he spoke.
"Will everyone be there?" I asked.
"No, just us. But I can ask someone to come if you want?" He offered.
"No, that's fine." I shot him a reassuring smile.
I grabbed my bag and followed him out the door, making sure to lock it this time. He took me into the woods and up along the trail. All my senses were alert, I could smell the rabbits scurrying away from me in fear. Chuckling to myself I caught up with Paul, bumping my hip against his in the process.
"Where are we actually going? I am staaarving!" I complained, coming across as a normal 18 year old.
"A place me and the guys found while we were... out." He hesitated, he was hiding something from me. Something I would find out.
"Is it near?"
"Just around the corner." He mumbled, as he grabbed my hand to help me over a risen log, not knowing that I was better on my feet than he was.
"Sure thing." I mumbled back, getting slightly bored. I was never one for hiking.
"We're here." He practically shouted.
I looked around me, we were in a meadow. It was gorgeous, there were no words to describe this place. It made me feel young again. Young enough to run about free, with my arms outstretched making plane noises. Making me feel free.
I heard Paul snickering behind me.
"What?" I snapped as I turned round to face him.
"You look so surprised." He chortled.
"I just never expected it to be so.... beautiful." I whispered, still in awe.
"Really? I'm sure you have seen better?"
"Nope."
"Have you got a mirror of just seen your reflection?" He asked me, a smile tugging at his lips.
"Of course, I am a girl after all." I replied, a little confused.
"Well then, you have seen better." He smiled at me, a cute innocent smile.
I couldn't help but smile, and if I could blush, I'm pretty sure I'd be doing so. Yeah, it was cheesy but it was sweet.
"Such a charmer." I teased as I dragged him down onto the soft grass and we began our picnic.
