A/N: I actually thought I'd already written this particular moment from Dex's POV, but unless I missed it when checking, I haven't. This chapter is Dex's POV of his and Biana's first kiss as mentioned in my main story and told from Biana's POV in my first one-shot collection. I decided it was time for more Dex content.

Also, starting Monday, I'll be going to weekly updates at least for a while. Honestly I'm hoping I'll have the time even for that much. I'm not sure. Life is pulling me in many different directions right now and time is limited.

Biana's smiling face flashed onto Dex's Imparter mere seconds after he'd finished saying her name.

As soon as his dad had told him he didn't have to stay in Slurps and Burps all day, Dex had known what he wanted to do.

"Hey," Dex began, grinning at her. "Are you busy this afternoon?"

"Not with anything important," she replied. "Why?"

"Well, I've spent all morning working in my dad's store, but he's letting me go. And I thought if you weren't busy and wanted some company...maybe I could come to Everglen and hang out for a while?"

Biana's smile widened, and Dex's heart flipped in response.

She was so pretty.

And sweet.

And...

"That sounds perfect!" She told him enthusiastically.

"Awesome. Let me just go home and change. I've been making elixirs and my tunic smells like some pretty funky ingredients. I'll see you in a few minutes?"

"Can't wait," she answered.

It didn't take him long to leap home and change.

Lex and Bex were both outside, arguing--very loudly--over whose ability was the best. Dex could still hear them as he climbed the stairs to the Leapmaster.

"MINE'S COOLER THAN YOURS!"

"NO IT ISN'T!"

"YES IT IS! IT'S SO COOL IT'S COLD! I MAKE ICE! ALL YOU DO IS WALK THROUGH WALLS!"

"YEAH AND THAT'S WAY COOLER THAN MAKING ICE!"

"MOOOOOM! BEX THINKS OUR ABILITY IS STUPID!"

Dex bit his lip and wondered if he should go find Rex. It was still strange that he wasn't right in the middle of the argument, wreaking havoc right along with Lex and Bex.

But Dex had been spending a lot of time with Rex lately.

And even if it was selfish...he knew Rex was really struggling with the fact that his siblings had manifested without him...Dex really just wanted to forget about all of that today.

Things were finally getting better. Keefe was home, his abilities weren't causing him trouble anymore--though Dex knew Keefe still struggled to come to terms with everything that had happened to him--and the Council was finally starting to leave all of them alone.

And most of the Neverseen had finally been caught.

Life was getting good.

Except...

Except for Rex.

Nothing was going to make things better for Rex.

And hanging out with Biana was usually a pretty good distraction. He hadn't told her about what had happened when Keefe had manifested--and predicted that Rex never would--so she didn't know just how worried he was about his brother. When he needed to talk about it, he went to Sophie or Keefe.
