Book Two: KOTLC One-shots and More

NEED YOUR THOUGHTS!

NOT A CHAPTER--JUST NEEDING OPINIONS! NEXT REAL UPDATE SET TO COME OUT TOMORROW AS PER USUAL.

We are having a lot of KOTLC theory discussions in our house and I want input from other fans.

It...might end up being relevant to some distant upcoming content. *mysterious smile*

Brant's name is redacted.

We know his middle name and Kenric's are VERY similar. So similar it seems to me that they MUST be brothers, especially since Shannon Messenger has already shown us that she will do that with sibling pairs.

The issues with that:

1) Kenric must be quite a bit older, because judging by how long he's been on the Council, he must have been serving on the Council since before Brant was ever even born.

2) Kenric seemed to have been a very kind and considerate person. Would he not have been involved in his brother's life after Jolie's "accident"? Going to visit Brant and helping take care of him? Even if he occasionally went to see Brant, it's made clear in the books that Grady and Edaline were the only ones looking after him.

3) How could they redact his name and expect people to forget, once the truth came out, that he was the brother of a Councilor? I can understand them trying to redact his last name since the truth about Brant came out right after Kenric's death, and they wouldn't have wanted Kenric's memory to be sullied by his connection to Brant. But...people would still remember.

I also know people theorize about Brant secretly being Marella's older brother, but I struggle with that one too, because why wouldn't the Redeks have been involved with Brant? This would have happened before Caprise's brain injury, so she was well and whole. I don't see why guilt would have stopped them. I thought maybe if they were ashamed of themselves for pressuring Brant to manifest and then started to cut him out of their lives after he was labeled "talentless", but that seems inconsistent with how well they've treated Marella when she manifested a banned ability.

And if it's not either of them...who is his family and why was his name redacted?

I also have a theory that maybe Tinker was in love with or related to one of the five pyrokinetics that died from the Everblaze, and that's why she has a thing for the number five and why she doesn't like heat/fire. Though that doesn't explain her fear of goblins or of weapons.

Also there is SO MUCH back and forth on the matter of Elysian, but that's all I'll say about that because that is a whole other can of worms.
