I've been giving y'all sm heartache and pain.. my apologies.. I'll ease up on the drama for now. Some days later
Omniscient
NYCThe crowd in Times Square was electric, buzzing with the thrill of New Year's Eve. Lindsey and Tiana stood side by side bundled up in heavy coats and scarves since the snow had intensified over their stay. Their breath clouded in the frosty air with each exhale, their gloved hands joined together with a tight grip.
Beside them stood SJ, his neck craned and his eyes wide as he took in the sea of lights, larger than life, and the ball high above, glowing brightly against the dark sky. Lindsey glanced down to check her watch, a small smile rising to her face as she noticed the time. "We're almost there," she murmured, her voice barely audible over the chants and screams of the crowd counting down from 100.
"You'll never forget this night, that's for sure." Tiana nudged SJ's shoulder with a warm smile, Linds chuckling while nodding in agreement. He grinned, shivering but exhilarated. Suddenly the strangers around them began to clasp hands while laughter and cheers blended into the electrifying atmosphere.
Somewhere off in the distance, fireworks burst, casting a bright red glow across their excited faces. And finally, the ball began its descent, and together the three of them joined the chanting countdown. "Ten.. nine... eight.." They numbered off, hand in hand with each other, as close as possible.
"Three.. two.. one— HAPPY NEW YEAR!"
The ball touched down and instantly, confetti and fireworks filled the air, it swirled around them like colorful snowflakes and fell ever so gently against their faces. Tiana latched onto SJ and hugged him tight, laughing as they swayed back and forth while being caught up in the euphoric moment.
Lindsey chuckled and smiled at the sight, glancing around as music began to play from every corner of Times Square, SJ and Tiana pulling her into a group hug. Fireworks bursted above and painted the sky in significant hues of purple, red, and gold. Their eyes fell to the shimmering lights reflected in the skyscraper windows, each one a momentary burst of beauty before fading into the night.
SJ reached into his pocket and grabbed his phone, snapping a pic of all three of them with flushed cheeks and bright eyes. "Here's to new beginnings!" Someone next to them yelled, Tiana's eyes finding Lindsey before she quickly looked away when they made eye contact.
SJ glanced up from his phone quickly to kill the moment. "This was the best new years ever!" He confidently yelled, Tiana and Lindsey smiling at his pure joy and excitement. "Yeah.. now let's go back to our hotel. I'm cold.." Tiana stated, poking her lip out since she ruined the moment.
So hand in hand, the three of them walked down the crowded street, the cheers and music began to fade behind them as they stepped forward into the crisp unknown of the new year.
And that summed up their special holiday season in New York. After all the angst, arguments and disappointment washed away, in came the love and joy on beat. It seemed like the best thing to do, forget they even had a life outside of New York and just live it up there. Christmas was as nice as it was the year before for the women,
Tiana's main priority was making sure that Lindsey and SJ were happy with their gifts. SJ was gifted a new bag, one that he had constantly been sending Tiana from TikTok. Apparently it was trending. She also got him a new game, even though he said he didn't want one.
