Lucy sighed coming out of magic shop.

Another gate key down the drain, maybe if she travelled farther, she could find more rare keys — maybe she could even secure a golden one. She hummed, rummaging through her little pouch. She supposed she could afford at least two more train rides before she had to pick up a few odd jobs for more jewels.

A shoulder bumped into her, and she stumbled before righting herself on her feet. Two screaming girls dashed past her, following a large crowd in the center of the bustling street.

"What is going on?" Lucy mumbled to herself, curiosity peaked, creeping behind the crowd to take a peek.

"A famous mage is in town!"

"Its Chaos!"

"Y-you mean, the mage who controls the magic of fire that can't be bought in stores? He's in town?!" Lucy whispered excitedly, clapping her hands together.

Pushing her way through, she tried to get a closer look and at the front of the crowd, Lucy could see Chaos, a young man with purple hair with a face marking who donned a matching cape. Her heart started to race, pounding so crazily, and she began blushing like a madwoman.

Is it because he's a famous mage? Is that why my heart is beating so fast? Maybe I'm in love...

"Who are you?"

A rough voice broke her out of her daze, and suddenly, Lucy didn't feel drawn to this man as much as she did before. The man looked perplexed, almost astonished that the newcomer had no idea who he was.

"Maybe you know me as Chaos,"

"That's funny, then shouldn't I be talking to myself?" He let out a raspy chuckle, mocking, as he crossed his arms, staring intently at the purple-haired man. Lucy watched as the "Chaos" character sputtered, clearly at a loss for words when faced with a challenge. She looked between the two carefully before catching sight of the ring "Chaos" wore. A charmed spell.

"Don't even fall for it, ladies, he's wearing a charmed spell," she found herself saying, drawing all the attention towards herself. She stepped forward and away from the crowd, placing a hand on her hip. The women gathered around lost that cloudy gaze, instead looking around confused.

"And you're using magic to get attention? Pathetic."

Suddenly, it was as if the magic pressure in the area got greater. Lucy's breath hitched. The air, itself, felt heavy, and Lucy had no doubts this mystery person was the cause of it. He must be powerful. This time when her heart started to race, it wasn't in a romantic way, and she could almost feel her chest heaving slightly as the air escaped from her lungs.

"Scram before you make an even bigger fool of yourself," He looked absolutely menacing and Lucy could barely take her eyes off him when he lifted his fist that was engulfed in black flames that cackled.

The creep wasted no time in fleeing, using his magic to fly away. The crowd quickly following suit when they realized Chaos wasn't just some pretty boy who waltzed into their town, and Lucy took a few deep breaths to compose herself before she turned towards the mystery person.

It was the first time she got a good look at him, and she could admit that he certainly was attractive. The most eye-catching things about him were his pink fiery hair and muscles that peeked out from beneath his open jacket. He wore a matching ensemble; a jacket, a white scarf wrapped around his neck and trousers secured with a brown belt, along with a muted yellow design on them. Lucy only now noticed the blue cat perched on his shoulder. She blushed a little, chiding herself internally for staring. She averted her gaze, instead planning on heading towards the train station.

"Hi there! I'm Happy!" The blue cat chirped happily.

Taken aback, Lucy spun around as she let a smile grace over her face.

"I'm Lucy, thanks for warding that creep off by the way, he was really disgusting using a charmed spell like that,"

"Well, we were just finishing a job nearby and someone claimed a person parading around as Natsu was in the city's centre, so we came to check it out,"

Natsu, huh?

She looked up at him, his daunting gaze focused on her. It was as if he was studying her — analyzing — with the way his eyes roamed her body freely. Suddenly, she felt conscious just wearing her little peplum top and white skirt. There was just something about him that called out to her. Luring her in.

"We're finished here, let's go Happy," Natsu grumbled abruptly, spinning on his heel and walking away.

"Wait! A job — that means you're in a guild. What guild are you from?" This could be her chance at becoming a real mage and making a real name out of herself! She just had to play her cards right.

"We're a part of Fairy Tail, do you know it?" Happy hovered curiously over Natsu's retreating figure, and Lucy's eyes sparkled in delight.

"H-hey, wait up! Let me come with you! I'm a wizard too!"
