The Fairy Tail reunion was nothing short of emotional. As Lucy stared into her mirror, she slightly cursed herself for crying so much; her eyes were puffy and face incredibly swollen. However, she couldn't bring herself to truly regret it.

She just couldn't believe she had her Fairy Tail family again.

Moving away from her vanity area, Lucy yawned. Surprisingly, the landlady had kept her apartment unoccupied, so she moved straight in without a hitch. Her belongings scattered the floor around her in heaps of piles, but she really couldn't bring herself to care.

Tomorrow, construction would begin on the new Fairy Tail guildhall.

Lucy couldn't wait.

She smiled as she flopped down onto her bed, giggling into her sheets. She kicked her feet in delight before a familiar sound of her window latch opening caught her attention, and she raised her head to look over.

Natsu and Happy climbed through with ease. Lucy tried not to roll her eyes.

Just like old times.

"Hiya Lucy! I've missed this place," Happy sighed with delight as he crawled in next to her. She flicked his head lovingly, causing the exceed to whine as he settled in. Natsu froze awkwardly in her space before she beckoned him over with a wave of her hand. She felt too happy to bother herself with worries and what-ifs surrounding her relationship. No, she was much too happy for that. They could last a night together, feigning blissful ignorance.

Slowly, he joined the two on the bed, slotting Happy between them; the blue exceed already dozing off and mumbling sweet nothings about eating fish in his dreams as he snuggled towards Lucy, pushing his face in her chest with a dreamy sigh. The celestial mage just rolled her eyes, patting his back like she would a baby, tangling her legs with Natsu as they curled together; moulding a pile of body parts that were safe, warm, and comforting.

She wanted to live forever in times—moments—like these.

Dozing off herself, Lucy let out an indignant squeak as she was circled by strong, muscular arms and hoisted towards a source of intense heat. Natsu's arms caged them protectively as he carralled them onto his chest. She tentatively pressed a hand against his abs, feeling them flex under her touch. The press of a nose to the crown of her head startled her for a second but she relaxed easily as a low rumble echoed from the dragon's chest, vibrating beneath her.

"I missed this," she slurred, being lulled to sleep by the melody of purring.

She almost didn't catch what Natsu said next.

"Me too,"

Maybe, this was love.

Lucy sighed, staring off into space as the familiar chaos of her guild mates surrounded her. In spite of all the heavy lifting and terrifying encounters with Alvarez, they had managed to get Master Makarov back; safe and sound.

By the skin of their teeth.

If Laxus and Gajeel hadn't shown up when they did, Lucy wouldn't be able to sit here and think about the what-ifs.

She winced at the sound of someone slamming their pint of beer against their new wooden tables and while the mood was way more controlled, she spotted Cana coming from a mile away. The brunette was clearly drunk, slightly stumbling as she giggled, moving towards the blonde mage who quirked a slight smile.

"Lucy, hey!" Cana cheered, dragging the girl into her arms. Lucy hugged her back, absentmindedly wrinkling her nose at the smell of booze on her friend, before she felt the tell-tale signs of Cana's hands wandering; squeezing her waist before moving lower and cupping her bottom. Lucy sighed, more than resigned to Cana's antics, as she began to pull away before she was tugged back abruptly.
