Lucy groaned, resting her elbows on her knees.

"Just where is this grave? We have no clues or hints as to where it could be," Lucy wondered. Sat across from her was Cana, after an hour or two of running and defeating the large monsters inhabiting the island, they decided to sit and strategize.

"Do you really think they didn't give us a hint? Maybe we just need to read between the lines, I've done this trial four times, and they've never given us an irrational test," Cana explained, gesturing with her hands.

"This second test is all about intelligence... perhaps there's a puzzle in the words," Lucy mused aloud. Lucy and Cana went back and forth, testing theories; hypotheses. Anything that could correlate to significant words or adjectives. Something that they could work with that would lead them to the first master's resting place.

Suddenly, it clicked.

Lucy stood up abruptly.

"I got it! I figured it out!" The blonde exclaimed.

The two girls shared a look filled with excitement, itching to be the first team to get there. However, the moment was cut short as a loud siren rang through the siren and a singular red flare shot up into the air.

That could only mean one thing.

Enemies.

"Shit, why at a time like this?" Cana's voice cracked as she clenched her fists. Lucy bit her lip; what the hell was going on?

"Guys! We need to go to the meeting spot, we need more information!" Grey yelled out, jogging into view with Loke by his side.

"Where did you even come from — " Lucy sighed.

A loud explosion occurred, the boom echoing across the island. A second later, they'd been surrounded by men, quite literally — falling out of the sky and the fighting had begun.

Lucy brandished her whip with vigor, a hard set glare on her face as she grabbed the nearest ankle closest to her and swung. Cana, Gray, and Loke had all sprung into action instantaneously as the horde drew closer.

When the clearing had dwindled and most of the bodies had dropped to the floor, Lucy was surprised when a thud echoed; signalling the entrance of something — someone. A goat with horns, standing on his hind legs with humanoid hands. His magical presence felt different, almost similar to Loke's. It couldn't be —

"Capricorn," Lucy said breathlessly.

Lucy blinked, bringing a hand up to rub her eyes. What happened? The last thing she'd remembered was running from Loke's battle with Capricorn with Gray and Cana before they'd decided to split up. Lucy had explained the theory she had to Cana before everything had gone dark. Caught up in her own thoughts, the blonde barely realized there was a large figure making his way towards her.

"Take this!"

The ground in front of her erupted, the white figure, slamming his hand into the earth. Lucy jumped back, scuffling on her butt.

"What the — who the hell are you?!" She shouted fiercely as she rose to her feet steadily, "where's Cana?!"

"Listen, lady, I don't know who Cana is, but it doesn't matter," the large man said plainly, "because you're going to die here."

Lucy narrowed her eyes; taking in his large structure. What was her plan here?

"Glaring at me isn't going to do anything! I'm one of the Seven Kin of Purgatory from Grimoire Heart, Kain Hikaru, I'm really strong!" The man said, while hiding behind a tree?
