It was Sunday and after what happened yesterday, Maeve just wanted to spend a peaceful morning with her family. They had already started the day at the beach, taking advantage of the good weather and the waves.

The sand was still cool under their bare feet, and the sound of the waves crashing seemed like the perfect soundtrack for this morning.

Isaac was the first to enter the water – Come on, you two! Before I show you how it's done!

Mason jumped in right after, running and splashing water everywhere before getting on the board –I'll show you dad! The youngest ones are the ones in charge here!

Maeve, in turn, watched the scene with a smile on her lips, feeling the vibrant energy of the moment. With a strong push, she entered the water, the cool sensation covering her skin heated by the sun. When a wave approached, she paddled skillfully, positioning herself perfectly to surf. The wind blew against her face as she glided along the crest of the wave, maintaining her balance with ease.

After an hour of surfing, exhausted with their hair still damp and their skin slightly salty, Maeve, Isaac and Mason arrived at their favorite cafeteria, which was located on a corner overlooking the beach. The glass doors were open, letting in the inviting smell of french fries and grilled fish.

Isaac, still with the board under his arm, laughed as he pointed at Mason, who was drying his messy hair with a towel –Mason, you have more sand on your head than on the entire beach

–May's fault, she threw me into the last wave –Mason mumbled playfully

Maeve shrugged, a mischievous smile forming on her lips –Oh, poor kid

They entered the diner, where the atmosphere was relaxed, with wooden tables and a jukebox playing some old music that Isaac loved. The owner of the cafeteria, a man with a gray beard and an apron, looked up and waved at them.

–Monteros! Same as always? –He asked, recognizing the presence of the three

–That's right, Joe –Isaac replied, choosing a table near the window so they could continue to see the sea

–I'm starving –Mason muttered, flopping down on the bench

After lunch and conversation at the cafeteria, Maeve, Isaac, and Mason walked outside. The afternoon sun was beating down, illuminating the street and the parked cars. It was then that Maeve noticed a familiar figure leaning against a shiny new black car parked across the street.

Cole was there, his arms crossed over his chest and a serious expression that mixed nervousness with determination. His hair was a little disheveled by the wind, and he was wearing a white T-shirt that highlighted his tanned skin. When his eyes met Maeve's, he straightened, making it clear that he was waiting for her.

Isaac, sensing the sudden tension, looked at Maeve, his eyebrows arched in concern –Do you want me to take care of it, or...

–No, it's okay –Maeve shook her head and forced a calm smile –You can go to the car, I'll catch up with you in a moment
