Los Angeles, California - 1963
Aurora Johnson and her band, Supernova, were in LA for the opening night of their tour for their newest album they had released. Aurora's ex boyfriend, William Bowers, was sitting atop the stage and strumming his guitar, his best friend, Cooper Dunne, sat next to him doing the same.
Aurora's best friend, Kaitlyn Oswald, was sitting in one of the venue's booths, looking over the setlist for the show with Supernova's manager.
Aurora however, was backstage, sitting on the old, rotting couch that laid in the green room. She was looking through her songbook when all of a sudden, the venue's owner walked up to Aurora and handed her a scroll, tied with a red ribbon. "This showed up for you, some blonde lady gave it to me." he stated.
Aurora looked up from her book and smiled at the owner. She grabbed the scroll and began to unwrap it from it's ribbon. As she unfurled the letter, Aurora saw in big letters towards the end, Sincerely, The Handler.
She quickly looked up at the venue owner, "Do you know if the woman who gave this to me is still outside?" she asked, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion and slight disdain.
The owner nodded, "Yeah, she's just in one of the booths towards the back." he replied.
Aurora nodded and quickly stood up, making her way into the main stage and down, towards the familiar face she instantly spotted.
The Handler smiled at the red-headed woman as she sat down on the opposite side of the booth. "Hello, Agent Johnson. Pleasure to see you again, my darling." she said, reaching her hand out for Aurora to shake.
Aurora rolled her eyes, "Oh, please." she rolled her eyes and threw the letter in front of the two. "You know damn well where I've been the whole time. I don't need to read this stupid letter to know that you want me for something again. And I'm just her to say I'm not doing anything for you or your crazy agency any more, I'm done with that stuff." she said sternly.
The Handler shook her head, "See, I knew you'd say that, Aurora." She grabbed the letter and opened it all the way. "That's why I think you should take time out of your day and read this letter. I wouldn't want anything to go south tonight, do you?" she questioned, a sinister smirk forming on her lips.
Aurora paused for a moment. Then, she snatched the letter back and began reading.
Dear Aurora,
Hello, Darling. Been awhile since we've last seen, or spoken to each other, hasn't it? Well, sorry to ruin your personal dream of being a silly rockstar. But, the Agency, more or less, I need you back. I know you may be against it, but I think you will enjoy this mission. You don't even need to time travel for it!
Your mission is to find one of the Hargreeves children, Klaus Hargreeves, to be specific, and make sure that he and his siblings don't cause the apocalypse again! This can be completed in so many ways, no need to kill an innocent person for the sake of the universe(unless you want to!).
Now again, this can be completed in many ways. But I would start trying to find him as soon as possible!
Please consider accepting this Aurora, we could all really use the help.
(P.S. Lila is helping along on this mission so you won't be alone)
Sincerely, The Handler
Aurora looked up from the letter and sighed, "As long as I don't have to leave here, I'll do it." she muttered.
The Handler smiled softly, "Of course you won't, darling. No time jumping is necessary." she said. "Now, do we have a deal, Agent Johnson?" she questioned, reaching out her hand once more.
Aurora sat in silence for a moment. She looked behind her at her bandmates, all practicing for their upcoming show that night.
She turned back to The Handler and shook her hand, "Alright, fine. I'll help you. But after this, I'm done." she said firmly.
The Handler nodded and then stood up in silence, walking out of the venue, her heels clicking against the marble flooring of the venue.
Aurora sat by herself, her thoughts running wild.
And that's when, in the next moments, Aurora's life was going to change forever. Because in the next moments, a man walked into the venue with an entourage of people behind him, following him like lost puppy dogs.
The man walked over to Aurora and sat down across from her, "Hi, could you help me get rid of these people really quick? They're driving me crazy." he exaggerated.
Aurora shrugged, agreeing and then standing up, pushing the group of people outside of the venue. "Sorry, guys. You wanna see your cult leader? Then you gotta buy a ticket for tonight's show, no if's and's or but's." she explained with a smug smile and then slammed the venue doors in their faces.
As she walked back to where the man was, she noticed that he was mumbling to the air next to him. She sat back down in the booth and looked at him, confusion riddling on her face. "Did I just kick out a bunch of crazies for someone who is probably crazier?" she asked with a small chuckle escaping her mouth.
The man perked up and shook his head, "Oh, no. I'm just very tired. Long night, you know?" he said with a small chuckle. He extended his hand and gave Aurora a small smile, "I'm Klaus, by the way. What about you?" he asked.
Aurora threw her head back and sighed to herself, she was gonna be in for a long ass ride.
