~Hunter's pov.

“Gilbert!!GILBERT!!.”
‘Where he could be?’

“They took him away.”
Dilson had been saying the same thing in the last half an hour. Even though the mayor said there are gonna be guards that patrol around the city all the time. I have yet to find one. Should I return home and ask for guards to help?

‘Yeah! That is the best option here.’

When I was pondering what to do next, a carriage crossed us by and Dilson, who was standing besides me, started to shout.

“GILBERT!!GILBERT!! GILBERT.”

Suddenly the carriage stopped and two men stepped down from it to check surroundings and then the arm that was hanging out, they moved it back in.

I covered Dilson's mouth with my hands. Pick him up and hide over selves in a nearby small alley. I peeked out for a second

‘When I saw Dilson screaming at the carriage, I noticed one thing. The same tattoo that Dilson had in his right arm. That arm was definitely Gilbert’s.

What the hell did I see? Kidnapping in the middle of the city. What the hell is happening here? Isn't this city supposed to be the most secure city of the kingdom?

Where are these f**king guards? Can't they come at the right time, anytime.

‘This thing is definitely gonna be difficult for me. Let's try to find someone to help.’

Suddenly, Dilson bit me on my hand, freed himself and ran towards the moving carriage. He hung himself under the cart without anyone noticing.

Of course he did it, without any noticing. ‘Haaaaaaa F**k it.’

James pov.
‘My lord! Where are you?’

Hunter's pov.
‘The carriage I followed was moving slower than the normal ones. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to catch up to them. But still, this carriage is only moving around the city.’

‘It is not leaving the city. It's unsettling in its own right that they didn't come up with any guards. That is too much of a coincidence that no one was on the streets whenever they crossed the street.

After a while, they entered a warehouse. After a few minutes, three men left the warehouse as if nothing happened. There will be some men there. I need to find a way to know how many men are in there.

‘What to do? What can I even do in this situation? I really wished Sky was here for help.’

‘Okay stop that mindset right now. You can't rely on someone's help all the time. Not right now at least. First let's try to find some entering points, different than the main door’

‘There is a window at the back of the warehouse.’ The warehouse was Three stories tall.

‘There are no grills. That's good to know. Okay let's try entering before anyone notices me.’

‘I slid through the window without causing any noise. I found myself in a horse stable with multiple carriages parked there.’

‘Okay let's try searching for the hostages.’ The very next door I opened led me straight into the huge hall where the main gate was connected. It was just a huge hall, With three stories high ceilings and many people binded with ropes and had bags on their faces.’.

‘I looked around and found no one was present there. Did they leave without any guards? No, that can't be true. It must be a trap. I need to stay low for now and observe.

Suddenly a woman's voice came from the back.

"Are you not gonna do anything My lord?”

‘Panicked, I looked behind, finding no one present there.’

“My lord, You should have been more careful. How will we be able to Face The Duke when he finds out his youngest is Missing.”

‘She disappeared as soon as I looked behind.’

Then there was a moment of silence when suddenly the front door opened and a woman came out with three heads in her hands. She threw them at me.

Those were the heads of people who were on the carriage. She killed them, even though they were supposed to be on the same side.

When she closed the distance I could see who she was.
“ Cotton?”.

“Oh my lord! You remembered me even though we didn't actually talk. Ahh you are making me feel good. Ahhh such a handsome looking boy remembered me. Amazing. I'm happy. I'm so happy. Hehehe”.

“So the Mayor is also involved in this.”

“My lord! How did you figure that out?”.

“These buffoons had no problem roaming around the city and there were no guards or rather no guards in the city as a whole. Even though it was supposed to be a heavily guarded crimeless city.”

“Still my lord. That's not enough to blame the mayor. We could have a soy In this security system that leaks us the guards path.”

“Yeah. It wasn't enough but that is all I needed to know. It was still a shot, shooted in the dark but it seems  I hit the target without trying much.”

“Aaaaaaa….. my lord, you used me to confirm your Theory. Aaa…. My lord, I think I am falling in love. Yes this fast beating of heart, isn't this just called love.”

‘F**k……. Great. So she is a psycho chick. Good to know.’

“I will let you have me but you need to release everyone here.”

“My lord…. Aren't we moving too fast, I just started to fall in love with you. I haven't confessed yet. But my lord I liked that side of you too. Hehehehehe………”

A cold sweat ran through the spine of Hunter. He knows there is no escape for him so he needs to survive as long as he can. He needs to do this so he can survive from this situation.

‘What can I do here? Should I try running? Nah that's foolish. Let's try to stall for a long time.’

“My lord. Despite how much I like you. I can't leave you alone anymore. I hope you won't be disappointed in me. I am just doing my job here.”

She jumps at supersonic speed towards Hunter. Hunter couldn't react to such speed. In fact he can't. He closed his eyes, clenched his cheeks and was ready to take a git when he heard the sound of weapons colliding.

It was James who stopped Cotton's long nails with blades in his hands.
