Chapter 50: Impression of Hunter

I will be staying for a couple of nights at the Duchy estate before leaving for my home. After the party ended, I decided to go to my room and rest. I was actually planning to escape but I don't think it's possible tonight. Right after the party ended, A maid with short black hair and crimson red eyes came to take me. She was Riley Rose, one of only two personal maids Lord Hunter had.
"Lady Aaria! Your room is prepared. Please follow me."

We both walked quietly in the hallway until we reached my room. Then she suddenly said,
"Lady Diana has said to me that you should take a bath before sleeping. It will be good for your skin and health." Lady Diana, Hunter's eldest sister. That's really sweet of her. I really needed a bath here.
"Let me take care of your dress, Lady Aaria." Rose started to take off my dress efficiently. I didn't even feel any distress or pain in removing it but, for some time she has stopped moving. Her hands were stopped.
I wondered what actually happened but then I realized. I had forgotten I got new whip marks due to Marquess outburst a week ago. She must have seen it. She will inform the Duchess and Duke about it. But wouldn't that be good for me? I will be free from the tyranny of Marquess and they will be punished for their wrong doings. Then after a small moment of silence, Rose spoke,
"Your bath is ready, Lady Aaria. You should take a bath."
"But won't you be telling the duch......"
"Don't even think about it, you won't be saying a word to them, My lady. You should take your bath. It's getting cold. I will make sure no one comes in here."

What was she thinking? She must have seen these marks. But why is she not doing anything to help me? Hahaha... What did I think? People are the same wherever you go. I want to escape.

After that nothing happened much. She delivered me a hug of water and a nightgown for me to sleep and I went straight into bed without saying anything.

~Next day afternoon.

I was having a nice cup of tea in the garden, accompanied by Rose who was standing behind me. I was told by her to come here. Is someone coming here to meet me? Who could it be? Maybe Hunter. I guess so. But to my surprise, the person who came to meet me was Lady Diana.

Lady Diana.

According to Lady Lana, Lady Diana is one of the most important figures of high society. Not only is she the Eldest child of one of only two Duke families, Duke Helstein but is also one of the prominent contenders for crown princess. Some people even say she is the next crown princess and in fact The next empress. She has beautiful long silver hairs and bright golden eyes like a sun with a long and elegant body. The dress she has worn doesn't feel like she is wearing a dress but the dress is wearing her. Even at the ball party, I took small glances to look at and admire her beauty.

"Greetings to Lady Diana of....."
"No don't do it."I stood up and bowed down but stopped me from doing so.

"Sit down lady Aaria. Fiona, bring us some more refreshments and everyone give us some space." Lady Diana said to one of her maids that were following her and everyone present there moved back a few meters. As soon as that happened, Lady Diana flicked her figure and a Blue silver wail of light started to surround us leaving only two of us inside.

"Are you scared? Don't be Lady Aaria. I won't hurt you. I only did it so no one could hear our conversation." She said this while her eyes were closed but as soon as she saw Aaria's face, she complimented. "But it doesn't feel like I scared you.You don't look like the timid and scared little girl I saw at last night's ball."

"Lady Diana! Can you tell me why you called me out here?".
"Quick to point. I see! That's brave of you to say that to my face straight as I could be the next Empress. Don't you think you should make good connections with me."
Aaria didn't say anything.
"I just wanna ask. What was your impression of Hunter last night?".

"Whaat?".
