There was silence for a long while before someone finally spoke up, one of the more frightened looking female scientists of the group.
"T-the computer i-in the corner. I'm not sure if it's powered, but I know there's a map to guiding the facility in the files of it. We've had some expansion to the place... b-but some loose anomalies may be affecting the layout." She said, her voice shaking as she spoke and pointed in the direction of said computer. They were all terrified, but being she looked to be the most frail of the group... it was obvious she was the most frightened at the moment.
I smiled. "See... that wasn't so hard. Now was it?" I say turning away now and heading towards it. "No power I can work with, I just need to know the files are in here somewhere." I more or less spoke to myself, going up to the pc and dramatically cracking my knuckle then getting to work. Small wiring like tendrils pushed through the skin of my dominant hand and wiggling their way into any crevices of the computer, my vision altered to where I was now basically blind to my surroundings while using my technoorganic AI implant to search through the files of the pc.

"This may take a bit for me to find our map in question." I say aloud. "Uni, you keep an eye on any SCP we currently got in the room and make sure no new ones try to get in. Dark, you keep an eye on our science geeks." I ordered, I of course got a verbal agreement from the both of them in response.
049 spoke up moments later, "And what of me?" He asked.
I let out a huff as I was now trying to just focus on the difficulty task of pulling the needed map file from and unpowered computer. "Since when-... ugh. Just don't try to kill anyone or my brother is allowed to deck you? Alright?" I say, then going back to my task. Honestly I was getting more annoyed with 049 the long he hung around us, if I were the old me thinking this way I would've just killed him without a second thought... but now days I at least attempt to be better.
He just answered back with a meek, "Right." before the room went quiet again.... well as quiet as it could be with the distant sound of screams of terror from the humans in the facility and various other growls or noises from the loose anomalies.

Smol time skip brought to you by "I'm still bad at filler and this probably gonna happen multiple times more in this story."

After some time I managed to finally find what we were looking for. "Fucking finally... that took forever." I growled, retract the biotechnical tendril from the computer with a hissing inhale of breath. My vision finally returning to see nothing had happened while I was preoccupied.
"I think it only took you 20 minutes." My brother spoke up with, I just shrugged. Felt like forever to me, but that's probably because this place makes me feel uneasy so any time passing felt like it was dragging on for too long to me.
I noticed the Plague Doctor staring me down. It was a look of concern, I would've asked what his staring was for but he beat me to to speaking up with something first. "Was that a hiss of pain?" He asked.
I rubbed my palm as I strode away from the pc. "Yes and no, I'm fine tho. Just happens when retracting the wiring too quickly.... I just want to get out of here." I held up my hand in his directing, "Even if it did cause me an injury, it would heal quickly. I'm not fragile." I then proceeded to pull up the 3D map on a holographic screen over my forearm.

"Now then, seems we don't got to many levels up to go... problem is finding working elevator or unaffected stair." I start to say.
Before I could start formulating a plan, Darkportal spoke up. "Are we planning to bring these scientists along? We'll have to plan accordingly if we are."
I glanced down at 999, who was still firmly planting himself between the group of humans and us. It was a cute, trilling, ooze creature but he had some intelligence in that empty head. "Naaaaah, they're safer here with 999. He'll keep them safe." I say nonchalantly, I really wasn't worried about them at all. With that being said, we moved along to try to find the exit.

049 moved to linger near one of the doors, his gloved hands folded neatly, his posture more reserved than I expected. He watched me, as though trying to decipher whether my calm exterior masked a trap. I could feel his tension radiating; it was almost... respectful. Almost."Are you planning to do anything... unexpected?" he asked softly, voice cautious but steady.I paused, letting a faint smirk tug at my lips. "Depends on what you mean by 'unexpected,' Doc. Right now, I'm planning on getting the lot of us out of here unscathed, and I suggest you keep up."He inclined his head slightly, as though weighing the words, then said nothing further. I could tell he wasn't used to being given instructions without a fight, but he was smart enough to recognize when he was clearly outmatched, or he trusted me for some foolish reason. That would work in my favor... for now.

I tapped the map, highlighting the elevator shaft that seemed functional on the security overlay. "This is our best shot. The elevator is two levels up, just past one of the D-Class housing levels. Any deviations, we risk running into other SCPs or more MTF squads. Stick close, and no one do anything stupid."049 gave a soft hum, a sound I couldn't quite place. Was it agreement, curiosity, or foolishness? I didn't care. In the best interest of my clanmate's well-being, I needed him on the same page. And so far, he was playing the part.

Darkportal whispered from my side, "You really trust him not to turn on us?"I shot her a glance, letting the smirk return. "Not exactly. But right now, he's useful. And he thinks he has a chance to escape with us if we succeed. Let him believe that... for now."Her eyebrows rose. "You're... not going to actually let him leave with us, are you?""Nope." I said flatly. "This isn't a charity mission, this was an information gathering assignment. Survival comes first, especially yours. I'm not letting an SCP with the ability to kill mortal beings with a single touch walk out the front door of this place on a whim. But for now, he's a wild card in our back pocket... just in case."She looked like she wanted to argue, but the alarm blaring in the distance and the faint shrieks from other SCPs and sounds of gunfire reminded her of why I made the rules.

I motioned for the group to move. "Let's go. Quietly."The hallways beyond were eerily silent compared to the chaos we'd left behind. Occasionally, a distant scream or crash echoed, reminding us that the facility was still very much a war zone. I kept my senses sharp, guiding the group through the maze of offices and maintenance corridors toward the nearest elevator that we could use.049 followed, keeping pace but staying just close enough behind that he could leap in front or intervene in anything, still cautious, still respectful. I made a mental note of his positioning. Perfect. He thought he had a permanent place in our group, but in reality, every step forward was still on my terms.

At a cross hallway, I held the group to a halt and raised a hand. "Listen. There's a patrol ahead, possibly MTF... but I saw a file that a group called Chaos Insurgency likes to take advantage of the foundation in these situations. Keep low, no sudden movements. If you make it past without alerting anyone, perfect. If we're seen, we kill."Uni nodded. Darkportal's eyes flickered toward me, but she didn't question me; she trusted, for now, that I knew what I was doing.049, however, finally spoke up. "You've handled this... strategically. I'm curious what exactly happens when we reach the exit?"My head turned, looking at him from the corner of my eye. "We fuckin' bolt our asses outta here asap."

He fell silent, the hum of his breathing the only sound for a moment. I could see the calculation in his eyes. He believed he had a chance to walk free, and I let him. That illusion of choice would be key when we reached the end. Survival wasn't just about getting out alive; it was about control, leverage, and timing.I led the group forward, the map guiding me toward the elevator, every step measured, every turn premeditated. 049 followed, careful but curious. He had no idea the real plan I had in mind. And I intended to keep it that way right up until the last moment. We had more important things to worry about for the time being anyways.

(There it is, another chapter for you kiddos. Eat up. Heck if I know when or if I'll post another one any time soon. lol)
