The air in the hospital felt heavier with each step Divine and Rhea took. They moved cautiously, their hearts pounding with dread as they searched for their friends. Every corner they turned seemed to amplify their fears, the oppressive silence pressing down on them like a physical weight. Divine couldn't shake the feeling that something terrible had happened, and the thought gnawed at her insides.

"Divine, are you sure we should keep going?" Rhea asked, her voice barely above a whisper. "What if they're waiting for us?"

"We can't stop now," Divine replied, forcing the words out despite the fear tightening her throat. "We have to find them. They could be in danger."

As they pushed forward, a flicker of movement caught Divine's eye. She turned sharply, heart racing, but it was just a rat scurrying across the floor. They kept moving, carefully navigating through the dimly lit hallways, pausing at every sound.

Finally, they reached a set of heavy doors that led into the surgical ward. Divine felt a chill run down her spine as she pushed the door open, the creaking echoing in the silence. The sight that met her eyes was something she had never prepared for.

"Georg!" she gasped, rushing into the room, dread washing over her like a cold wave. There, lying on the floor among scattered medical supplies and debris, was Georg's lifeless body. His eyes stared blankly at the ceiling, a look of horror frozen on his face. Blood pooled around him, dark and glistening on the floor.

"No... no... no!" Divine cried, falling to her knees beside him. She touched his cold skin, her fingers trembling as tears streamed down her cheeks. "Georg, please... no... you can't be gone!"

Rhea stood frozen at the doorway, her hand over her mouth in shock. "Divine, we... we need to get out of here," she stammered, horrified at the sight. "This isn't safe!"

"But what about Bill and Jennifer?" Rhea cried, looking up at Divine, her heart shattering. "they're gone rhea, they're gone.." Divine sobs.

Suddenly, the weight of the situation crashed down on Divine. "We have to be realistic, Rhea! We can't save them if we're dead too! They're fucking gone we have no choice." she pleaded, her voice breaking with urgency.

Rhea felt her chest tighten, the realization hitting her like a punch to the gut. They were losing everyone-one by one, their friends were slipping away into darkness. The memories of their laughter around the campfire and their playful banter echoed in her mind, now tainted by the harsh reality before her.

"We have to find a way out," Divine continued, stepping further into the room. "Maybe they're hiding somewhere. We need to search the other rooms-"

"No!" Rhea shouted, interrupting her. "I can't leave him like this!"

She looked back down at Georg, the weight of grief pressing on her heart. "I can't just abandon him. He deserves better than this... he was our friend." Tears flowed freely down her cheeks as she cradled Georg's head in her hands, desperate to remember the good times they had shared.

"Rhea.." Divine said softly, kneeling beside her. "I know this is hard. But if we don't move now, we might lose our lives too. We can't let this place take us as well. We owe it to Georg to keep going."

The weight of Divine's words sunk in, and Rhea felt a conflict tearing at her insides. She wanted to honor Georg, to give him the farewell he deserved, but she also knew that staying here could mean losing her own life-and the lives of her remaining friends.

"Okay," Rhea whispered, finally lifting her gaze to meet Divine's. "I'm sorry, I can't save you guys.." Rhea cries, Divine did too.

Divine wips her tears and together they carefully stood up, casting one last glance at Georg before stepping out of the surgical ward. The darkness of the hallway loomed ahead of them, but they pushed forward, guided by the faint hope of finding their friends.

They passed through another room, the remnants of a nurse's station scattered about. "We should check here for anything useful," Rhea suggested, her eyes scanning the area. "Maybe there's something that can help us get out."

Divine nodded, her heart racing as they rifled through the debris. She found an old flashlight, its beam flickering to life when she pressed the switch. It was a small victory, but in this hell, even the tiniest glimmer of hope felt monumental.

Suddenly, a loud crash echoed from down the hallway, causing both girls to freeze in place. "What was that?" Rhea whispered, her eyes wide with fear.

"I don't know," Divine replied, gripping the flashlight tightly. "But we need to move-now!"

They hurried toward the sound, their hearts pounding in sync with their quickened steps. As they rounded a corner, they came upon a scene that made their blood run cold.

Without thinking, Divine charged forward, the flashlight flickering wildly as she approached the horrific scene. She swung the light toward the men, hoping to momentarily blind them.

The man holding axe turned toward Divine, his face a mask of rage. "You shouldn't have come back!" he growled, raising the axe menacingly.

"Run!" Divine yelled, fear propelling her forward as she tried to reach the exit but hopeless.

But before she could get close, Rhea tackled Divine from behind, pulling her back. "No! You can't save them like this! We need to get out of here!" Rhea screamed, her voice desperate and pleading.

Divine fought against Rhea, but deep down, she felt the helplessness of their situation. The realization hit her hard; they were too late. The man swung the axe, and in that moment, time seemed to freeze.

Divine looks at Bill and Jennifer's body. She felt herself being pulled back into the darkness, Rhea's grip holding her tight as they stumbled away from the chaos.

"No! Bill! Jennifer!" Divine cried, tears streaming down her face as they fled down the corridor.

They didn't stop running until they reached a small, empty room at the far end of the hallway. Divine leaned against the wall, her heart racing as she struggled to catch her breath. The realization of what they had just witnessed hit her like a tidal wave.

"They're gone..." she whispered, her voice barely audible. "They're really gone..."

Rhea looked at Divine, her own eyes filled with tears. "We need to keep moving. We can't give up yet," she urged, her voice trembling.

But the words felt hollow. Divine felt like she was drowning in despair, the weight of their loss suffocating her. They had come to the hospital as a group of friends, united in adventure and laughter, and now... now they were down to just two.

As they stood in the room, the reality of their situation sank in. They were alone in a haunted hospital, surrounded by darkness and danger, with the weight of loss pressing down on them like a leaden shroud.

"Let's go," Rhea said finally, her voice breaking the silence. "We have to keep moving."

With a heavy heart, Divine nodded, knowing they had no choice but to push forward. They had to find a way out, even if it felt impossible. Together, they turned to face the darkness ahead, steeling themselves for whatever horrors lay in wait.
