The following morning brought a renewed energy to the group as everyone awoke to bright sunlight streaming through the trees. After their usual morning routine of coffee and laughter around the campfire, they decided to explore a new part of the forest, a place Georg had heard about from a friend who’d camped there before.
As they hiked deeper into the woods, Tom and Divine walked hand-in-hand, occasionally sneaking glances at each other, each smile filled with a shared understanding. The connection between them had grown stronger over the past few days, and both felt it without having to say a word.
Bill noticed, casting a subtle glance at his brother and Divine. He’d always kept his feelings quiet, but seeing them together reminded him of what he’d kept hidden. He shook the thought away, focusing instead on keeping up with Jennifer, who was playfully challenging him to climb the steep trail ahead.
"So, who’s ready for another dare tonight?" Jennifer called out, her voice carrying through the trees.
“Oh, you mean like your last ‘dare’?” Divine teased, giving her a smirk. “You had to jump in the lake fully dressed.”
Jennifer laughed, tossing her hair over her shoulder. “Hey, it was worth it. Besides, who knows what dares we’ll come up with tonight?”
They continued their hike, sharing jokes and light-hearted banter, everyone’s spirits high. Hours passed, and they eventually came across a small, secluded lake. The water sparkled under the sunlight, inviting them in with its cool, clear depths.
“Swim break?” Gustav suggested, already stripping off his shirt and tossing it onto the shore.
“Last one in is on firewood duty tonight!” Rhea shouted, racing toward the water with a laugh. One by one, they splashed in, their laughter echoing across the lake as they dove and splashed around, the worries of the world miles away.
As they swam, Tom wrapped his arms around Divine, pulling her close in the water. She laughed, splashing him in retaliation, but he leaned in, his voice a soft whisper. “Want to sneak away tonight? Just the two of us?”
Divine’s heart skipped a beat, her cheeks warming as she nodded. “Yeah… I’d like that.”
Meanwhile, on the other side of the lake, Jennifer and Bill were drifting in the water, watching the others. Bill glanced at Jennifer, catching her eye as he took a deep breath. “Jen, there’s something I… I’ve been meaning to say.”
Jennifer looked at him, a hint of surprise in her expression. “Oh?”
He hesitated, but before he could continue, a splash from Georg interrupted them, and the moment was lost. Jennifer laughed, playfully pushing Georg back into the water, while Bill sighed, wondering if he’d ever get the chance to say what he’d been holding back.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, they made their way back to camp, exhausted but exhilarated from the day’s adventure. That night, they gathered by the campfire once more, sharing stories under the stars. Eventually, one by one, they started to drift off to their tents—everyone except Tom and Divine.
They sneaked away, hand-in-hand, finding a quiet spot beneath a tree where they could be alone. The silence was filled with unspoken words, and as they sat together, Tom reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair from Divine’s face.
“I’ve never felt this way before,” he admitted, his voice barely above a whisper. “Being here with you… it feels like everything I’ve been searching for.”
Divine’s gaze softened as she looked at him, her heart full. She leaned in, closing the space between them as their lips met in a gentle, lingering kiss. In that moment, it felt like they were the only two people in the world, surrounded by the quiet beauty of the forest.
As they held each other close, the stars above seemed to shine just a little brighter, illuminating a night that neither of them would ever forget.
Divine made a PROMISE to his boyfriend Tom, he'll always love him.. protect him, tom promised her that too..
"i love you tom, always and forever" Divine softly spoke
"I'll love you, unconditionally mylove." Tom hugs divine..
