The dawn broke slowly, the faint light creeping through the windows of the abandoned hospital. Divine stirred awake, her mind still hazy from sleep, and she blinked against the soft glow. As she sat up, she noticed Tom was already awake, staring pensively at the wall.“Good morning,” she said, stretching her arms above her head. “How’d you sleep?”
Tom turned to her, a slight smile breaking his contemplative mood. “Better than I expected, honestly. It was comforting having everyone around.”
Divine nodded, grateful for the camaraderie that had developed during their camping trip. The thrill of exploring the hospital was still fresh in her mind, and she felt a surge of excitement at the prospect of what they would uncover today.
“Let’s wake everyone up and get moving! I want to explore every corner of this place,” Divine said, her voice bubbling with enthusiasm.
A few moments later, the group gathered in their little camp area, the air thick with anticipation. Jennifer, still groggy, rolled her eyes. “Why are we doing this again? This place gives me the creeps.”
“Because it’s an adventure!” Divine exclaimed, practically bouncing in her seat. “We’re only here once, and I want to make the most of it.”
Bill, ever the supportive brother, chimed in. “Let’s just be careful, okay? If we’re going to explore, we should stick together.”
“Agreed,” Gustav said, looking around at the others. “The last thing we want is to get lost in this place.”
“Right! So let’s find a map or something!” Divine suggested, already starting to pack her bag with supplies: flashlights, snacks, and a first-aid kit just in case.
“Let’s check the old reception area first,” Georg proposed, pointing toward the corridor leading out of their makeshift camp. “It might have some information or at least a layout of the hospital.”
The group nodded in agreement, the excitement palpable as they made their way through the crumbling halls. The echoes of their footsteps seemed to reverberate in the silence, a constant reminder of the hospital’s eerie history.
As they walked, Divine took the lead, flashlight in hand. The light illuminated peeling wallpaper and broken furniture strewn about. She could feel the adrenaline coursing through her veins; this was what she had wanted—an adventure filled with mystery and the thrill of the unknown.
“Look at this!” Rhea exclaimed, stopping to peer into a room. The door creaked open to reveal a darkened space filled with remnants of old medical equipment. “It’s like a time capsule.”
Jennifer stood a few steps back, crossing her arms. “This is so not my idea of fun. I don’t want to be stuck here if something happens.”
“Stop worrying, Jen. We’re all together, and nothing is going to happen,” Tom reassured her, his hand resting on her shoulder.
“Easy for you to say. You’re not the one who freaks out at the slightest sound,” Jennifer shot back, her eyes darting around the room.
The tension eased as Divine and the others continued to explore. They wandered through the hospital, laughter mingling with the occasional gasp as they stumbled upon peculiar sights—a rusted gurney, an old medicine cabinet still stocked with dusty vials, and photographs of patients long forgotten.
“Can you imagine what it must have been like here?” Divine mused aloud, her voice echoing off the walls. “All the stories this place holds…”
“Let’s make our own story today,” Bill suggested, raising his flashlight triumphantly. “We’re the new explorers of this haunted hospital!”
“Yeah!” Rhea cheered, lifting her own light. “We can be the heroes who uncovered its secrets!” she said teasingly
As the group delved deeper, they reached the hospital’s old emergency room. The room was dark, but the faint light from their flashlights revealed bloodstained floors and shattered glass.
“Whoa…” Georg breathed, his voice a mix of awe and fear. “This place is even scarier than I thought.”
Divine stepped cautiously into the room, her heart pounding with exhilaration. “We should look around here. There might be something interesting!”
As they searched the room, Jennifer stood by the doorway, her nerves starting to get the better of her. “Can we please hurry up? This place feels off…”
Tom glanced back at her, concern evident on his face. “You’re not alone, Jen. We’ll be right here.”
But before they could continue, they heard a faint sound echoing from the hallway—a soft shuffling that made their hearts race. The laughter and excitement of moments before were replaced by a heavy silence, each of them exchanging nervous glances.
“What was that?” Rhea whispered, gripping Gustav’s arm.
“I don’t know, but we should stick together,” Divine replied, trying to maintain her courage. “Let’s check it out.”
With a shared look of apprehension, the group cautiously moved toward the sound, their flashlights flickering as if responding to their anxiety. Each step felt heavier, the air thick with tension as they approached the hallway that led deeper into the hospital’s labyrinthine corridors.
“Stay close,” Divine urged, her heart racing with a mix of fear and curiosity. “Whatever it is, we’ll face it together.”
As they turned the corner, the shuffling stopped, replaced by an eerie stillness that filled the air. They were met with an empty hallway, the walls lined with faded memories. But the unease lingered, heavy and palpable.
“Okay, this is creepy,” Jennifer muttered, her voice barely above a whisper.
“Let’s just check one more room,” Divine said, her determination stronger than her fear. “We can’t leave without fully exploring!”
They hesitated but nodded, moving into the next room. Just as Divine reached for the doorknob, a loud crash echoed behind them, followed by a guttural growl that sent shivers down their spines.
“What was that?!” Rhea shrieked, her face pale with fright.
TWO MAN WITH AN AXE & CHAINSAW.
“Run!” Tom shouted, grabbing Divine’s hand as panic surged through the group.
They bolted down the hallway, hearts racing, leaving behind the mysteries of the hospital and rushing into the unknown.
